I had heard of ETID but didn’t delve into them until I saw them play We’rewolf one night on Kimmel.

With that said, No Son of Mine

 

I don’t think I’ve ever listened to it all the way through for this reason

Fellow WNY folk: the X-Mas show this year is going to involve a wrestling show and it's @ Riverworks. There's going to be winter sports events & contests earlier in the day. Should be amazing.

Sorry, "No Son of Mine", I love you, but you don't live until you're ready to die.

My vote is for "We'rewolf".

NSoM is great, but "We'rewolf" is too and it more embodies the overall sound of the album.

 

Very tough, but No Son of Mine gets my vote.

 

Updating the score late EST, my apologies. Worked a wedding rehearsal dinner that got out much later than planned. Happy to see the votes going back and forth. Both are great songs. If there are no more votes when I wake up, we'll be moving on to Gutter Phenomenon.

Before this tournament of voting for the best songs from one of the greatest heavy bands to ever grace the earth kicks off, we have to cover some of the typical ground rules ladies and gents. I will repost the following and keep up with score updates as often as possible until we have narrowed it down to one.


As always, all participants should be respectful and considerate of opposing opinions/votes. These tournament brackets are meant to be inclusive and fun for everyone. Open discussion on all rounds and votes is encouraged! In order for your votes to count, you must vote on every match-up in the round. Also, to make it fair across the board, no changing votes once yours are posted. Round lengths will range from a minimum of 10hrs to 24hrs, pending run rules and average voters each round of course. I will be keeping score daily and confirming votes via likes. We will work our way backwards through their discography, starting with Low Teens through to a round of Bonus Tracks released by the band, and then ending with a Championship round. (We will skip over Burial Plot Bidding War EP as the band would probably encourage us to do so anyways.)


In order to avoid an uneven Championship round, as well as to keep things interesting, we'll have a Wild Card round between the 8 LP runner-ups for a spot in the finals. Byes are unfortunately necessary in some cases, but all brackets are randomly generated and I will sit out voting unless a tie breaker is required.

We're at the band's third full length album now; Gutter Phenomenon (2005).



This is the album that was the beginning of a rocket ship to the top for this band. Despite its flawed production, this album was the band's first step into incorporating traditional rock sounds into their music, while still keeping the aggressive flare from the previously legendary Hot Damn! (which we will be getting to in no time.) It's a fun album, with two often too easily dismissed guest vocal spots. One being from the legendary Gerard Way of MCR, and the other Daryl Palumbo of Glassjaw/Head Automatica. It has some of my favorite song titles as well, like Guitarred and Feathered.
