Maybe releasing IAAN before SF was all part of the plan. Release something good but simplistic. It made Sci Fi hit that much harder because it's absolutely nothing like IAAN. Zero resemblance whatsoever. There might be a method to the madness here. Or I'm completely wrong. Thus the mystery of Brand New lives on forever.

i made this post while eating a bowl of Chex and looking back at it... that first sentence makes no sense whatsoever.

I've probably posted more about Degrassi than BN in this thread. More often than not, when I hear someone say "whatever it takes" I start singing the theme song in my head.

@DejaMoi im listening to Try Honesty right now because we were talking about that first Billy Talent album. i didnt have it on my itunes so i just looked it up on youtube and the comments are hilarious. its all people being really nostalgic and loving Canada.

also, this song is awesome.

I’ve seen a couple other Canadian bands too - Big Wreck, Finger 11, and The Glorious Sons. Probably more if I gave it more thought.

Edit: also that's where Billy Talent got their name from. One of the band member is called Billy Talent. That was the point of this post

I gotta say, I was a little hesitant to do a search for Hard Core Logo on my work computer.

 

It came out first 84 and Hard Core Logo 96. They are both great. I just personally prefer HCL. I mean Spinal is more polished, funny and about a hair metal band. HCL is raw, dramatic and about a punk rock band so yeah like I said it comes down to personal preference. I recommend both regardless.

 

Metric & Chromeo are probably my favorite Canadian bands.

Random question: Was FeFe Dobson actually popular in Canada back in the day? I remember Kanye talking about how sad he was that her career stalled.
