idk man have you seen the blink thread?

 

Pop punk is my favorite genre and I listen to a hell of a lot of it. Especially whiny generic bands.

I do not like Trophy Eyes but they certainly aren't generic.

 

As a resident ambassador from the metal thread on this site (no one appointed me to this position), @cwhit doesn't hold condescending opinions of metal. In my observation, he just holds opinions about shitty bands of all genres. Like we all do on this glorious site. I don't think it's a critique of individual's taste. So he's not putting you down. He just is sharing is his opinion like everyone on this site.

As a side note, y'all need to stop defending pop punk. Those Man Overboard shirts went out of style...what, like 5 years ago?

I got about half way through and thought it was bland

 

Trophy Eyes really do suck, but everyone shitting on Head North is 100000% wrong in every way. Listen to the new record, it's a god damn masterpiece. I'm only going to that tour for them (and Grayscale if that ends up happening).

 

God damn, am I the only person on this thread who likes Trophy Eyes? Pumped as hell for this tour.

 

Trophy Eyes are one of the few recent pop punk bands that don't suck

 

Chemical Miracle is one of my favorite albums. Don't really care much for their older stuff, but CM is amazing.

 

Nope, I'm so excited for this tour, I missed Head North on their last tour so it's all around good for me

 

Trophy Eyes is good. I saw them at Warped Tour in 2015 and they were fun.

 

Everything I've heard from Trophy Eyes really isn't my thing.

 

Free Throw and Head North are tight. I'm indifferent to Trophy Eyes, but I like the song "chlorine" albeit it feels a tad cheesy.

 

It's about a guy who committed suicide, I wouldn't say exactly that it's cheesy. Although I guess you were referring to the music/vocals and not the lyrics.

 

Wasn't a big fan of Trophy Eyes before I saw them on the Moose Blood tour. They blew me away live and Chemical Miracle is anything but a standard "pop punk" record. The band reminds me a lot of Polar Bear Club musically, however PBC had more respect from the punk audience due being signed to bridge nine.

Definitely can see a small comparison to PBC on Chemical Miracle. Love that record though it was really surprising after how bad I thought TE was before

 

Ice Nine Kills posted a tweet saying their adding dates to the headliner. They posted a picture of the tweet on instagram with the Middle East in Cambridge for the location

 

So any update on what The Acacia Strain might be up to this fall?
