well this album is 5/5 so far for me.
looking like they took the next step

 

This album is going to be so damn good

 

I'm real excited for this album now

 

Real question do I overrate this band or does everyone else underrate them?

I second that it's the second option.

 

I never thought I'd be this excited for a Citizen album but all 3 songs so far are so good.

 

Damn. Youth was incredible and whilst I liked EIGTH I always thought it suffered a lot in comparison. So far this will at the very least compete to be their best release. New song is so good.

 

I've been thinking about a BN to Ciz comparison all day and I kind of feel like they're making similar moves sound changing wise.

Pre Youth stuff - comparable to YFW
Youth - comparable to Deja
EIGTH - comparable to Daisy
AYP - Seems like it will be comparable to TDAG

Just released a Daisy type album ahead of it's time haha

 

I think if people dig this new one they will go back and realize that EIGTH is a great album

It's a bummer because I love that album so much but I feel like the band isn't gonna play anything besides a song or two off of it since the fanbase hates it

 

Unfortunately, I just got word that press for them has been moved in house and I'm not sure if their new agent is interested. I'm going to reach out to the band directly and still try to make it happen though.

 

EIGTH is cool, but this album is much more consistent and, quite frankly, better

 

oh fuck I didn't think I could get more excited for this album!

 

I didn't know the reaction was that poor to EIGTH. I thought it was a great album.

 

I don't think it was that poor critically, just polarizing among fans

 

To be fair a lot of their fan base stemmed from the pop punk TSSF type kids. So it makes sense why they don't like that album.

Hopefully all those kids are gone

 

The only thing weird about EIGTH was the pacing. Sitting down and listening to the full record is a weird expierence, but the songs themselves aren't bad.

 

Uhhhhh Ten isnt that great lets not forget

 

It’s one of the best songs on the record?

 

I like ten now, it's a weird song but I works well on the Record

 

Ten is killer live

 

I need to see this band

 

Maybe its better after you see it live, but its always been the most skipabble song by the band for me
