Same. I would never call myself a Green Day fan but Dookie to Warning is a good run.

Let's hold our breath until we disappear

You guys are nuts. American Idiot is their overall best release. ;-)

I think my personal favorite is Nimrod, though.

I don't know what it is but I never gave Green Day a chance even though they probably would have been up my alley when I was in high school. I feel too old to try now though because that's definitely not my current taste

Dookie Insomniac and Nimrod have some of the best songs in pop punk ever. And yes, nothing of theirs compares to Dookie, they gave birth to mainstream pop punk and we would have nothing without that album.

Why Dookie > American Idiot. Dookie covers every thought someone in their teens to early twenties has. Longview is a reflection of how boredom consumes middle class white teens and yes has such an energetic chorus, this energy all teens have but are just so bored. It's amazing. AI becomes overly politicized which is kind of like that "college years" phase teens go through. It's not as relatable. On top of that, the song writing is a bit bland.

Warning took time to grow on me but man that is one solid album.

Warning is the only Green Day album I really enjoyed.....I think it's cuz it's acoustic heavy and it came out during my soft rock phase.

I think blink's untitled and Green Day's American Idiot were so good that they, like, completed a genre for me. I'm not into much if any pop punk pop that's come out since those albums, I just haven't found anything in the genre since as ambitious or quality as those two albums. Obviously there's plenty I missed since I think I completely lost touch with pop punk in 2009 but literally none of it has clicked with me anywhere close.

I love AI but I put everything before that above it. Something about old Green Day that's just way more special to me. And Warning is way underrated

This thread is weird. AI is their best album without a doubt.

Big surprise we 100% agree. I grew up on dookie and nimrod. American idiot just had no appeal on me. I loved them on pop disaster tour though.

I love AI mainly due to the nostalgia but Nimrod is probably their best.
