Mid 90s here this week. Hoping it doesn't get back to triple digits anymore though.

Thursday is definitely an all year band but what about them says autumn to any of you? Besides I guess a city by the light literally having a song titled Autumn leaves revisited. I suppose no dev could have those vibes. Idk I guess playing them at every occasion means I don't see the specificity.

Also Boxer seems like it's gonna be a good fall album

    Listen | DMPulse

dmpulse currently playing Manchester and that's why they are the best. Reached out to them on facebook to remind them about the new Brand New record and they thanked me and said they would play some, mostly likely only CGIO but still its cool. They rock.

Edit: Also today it's their sponsored by a listener all day. You make a donation and you get to curate/pick all the music for the day. A friend of mine did it a few years ago and I listened on the day that she did it. Neat stuff. But today the host said happy Tuesday afternoon and that sure as hell confused me lol...I mean come one dude TGIF how can he forget that!

Y'all got any good recs for music to study/do homework to? Typically I listen to Brian Eno or some of the calmer work by Aphex Twin or Eluvium, but I'd like to expand my options. I appreciate those artists because, while their work is totally viable background music, it is also something I could have in the foreground were I to be in a particular mood. Pretty much my only stipulation is that it can't have lyrics, I get too distracted.

Yeah I just visit the website. I don't have any room left on my phone for apps. I'm constantly deleting and redownlading the ones I use.

Back in college On a Wire by the Get Up Kids was one of my main homework/paper-writing albums. But anything instrumental usually works for me. That Chris Walla album from a few years ago, Tape Loops, is a good one to do work to, so I imagine it'd also be good for studying and homework.

Yes...but a thing isn't beautiful because it lasts

I discovered Thursday while working for NYSEG doing low voltage transmission testing. Grueling hours (6am-8am, 6 days a week) and no real place to call home besides whatever hotel room they posted us up in that week. I walked 15-20 miles every day following lines and marking pole locations, no matter the weather.

One Sunday, there happened to be a used copy of ACBTLD on an local record store shelf for like $5. Picked it up randomly and was instantly hooked, that album kept me sane many days afterward. The exhausted, yet hopeful tone of Running from the Rain always left thoughts of my now-wife in my head while hiking 15 miles or more away from the nearest civilization. Ironically enough, I remember at the time on AP.net searching for the album and seeing negative comments on the album for a few pages, and thinking "if this is their worst I can't wait to see what their best is."

Autumn Leaves Revisited was the song playing in the car moments after I quit that job in October, wishing that there was somewhere indeed where my cigarette would burn through the night.

Listening to Thursday is essentially muscle memory at this point from September-November, their discography became deeply emotionally valuable in that time period and my mind apparently just likes to subconsciously revisit that each year.

My next viewing will be a choice of a Cassavetes film, Take Shelter, Little Children, Nocturnal Animals, or The Assassination of Jesse James.

Just that I haven't seen/heard enough of his stuff to have a concrete opinion.
