truthfully, i think the main reason i love it so much is because it is one of those movies (like NOTLD) that i saw at a younger age and it made its mark on me in an important way. so i cant hate on anyone who doesnt like it although it hurts a little to hear but its fine, okay its fine.

This is the David Gordon Green/Danny McBride movie that I completely forgot was happening. Hype.

Yeah, I wish I saw it when I was younger. I watched it for the first time maybe five years ago and I was pretty disappointed. I should check it out again now that I have zero expectations. I understand that it's an important movie for horror, but there were certain elements that just made me think, "this is dumb."

I watched the movie when I was younger and grew up with it, but when I rewatched it again last fall it impressed me with how well it held up. Maybe because I was finally old enough or aware enough to see its influence in horror but I could recognize its creepiness and how it impacted the genre and I had a new appreciation.

Carpenter is a master and the original film, along with TCM, is not just one of the best in the genre but one of the best of all time. Cinematography and score all on point.

Looks like they're just completely ignoring Resurrection. Nice.

I found it to be very well crafted on a technical level, there's no disputing that. It was the writing I had issues with. I should check it out again though.

Hopefully we can ignore parts 3, 4, 5, 6, and 8. It's a solid franchise if you just watch the original, sequel, and H2O. I have a feeling this new one will be at least as good as H20

I always loved Halloween 4 and 5 because I loved Jamie. Prob just me being a little kid and enjoying seeing another little kid instead of all the older characters I couldn't identify with, but they were some of my faves when I was a kid.

Anything with Jamie Lee Curtis is a go for me. Except that yogurt she hocks, no thank you.

The original Halloween isn't that good of a movie, but I'd be damned if it didn't bring in some good and spooky vibes.

I haven't seen much of Carpenter's filmography regrettably outside of Halloween and The Thing (and plan on changing that ASAP) but I watched Halloween for the first time about a year ago and it is brilliant

I wanna watch Big Trouble real bad

The atmosphere in the original Halloween is impeccable. Like I noticed when I rewatched how they utilized the shadows so effectively and I just find it really well done. I hate the remake so much lol like I only watch it for Danielle Harris if someone insists on putting it on.

I rewatched the My Bloody Valentine remake last night and lmao it def is that entertainingly bad kind of movie like where a kill happens and u just laugh so it was good for that. But I died at how they were in the store hiding in the office and freaking out and she only presses the alarm button at the very end after they are in there 4ever, after the killer is almost in, and after someone already dies. Like sis. And when that girl is going thru the window the killer goes outside and around the building to kill her SO fast. like 3 seconds, and it's a fairly sizable store. And he has to grab a box of chocolates first, unless he had that on him somewhere lol. He's def not subtle with that heart in the box thing.

When I said Halloween wasn't a good movie I was strictly speaking about the story. Everything else is great and makes it a classic of the genre. It's usually one of the first films I watch to get spooked.

My favorite horror movie is the original TCM, so I probably can't say much when it comes to story quality. Ha
