I'm like a mix of the two. I upgrade on a two year cycle because of phone contracts, but I order on day 1 because I really want the newest phone. So right now I don't know if I get the 8 while knowing a better phone comes out just over a month later, or if I wait until the X preorder to see how much it would cost with the phone contracts. Right now, the 8 is 200CAD with a 85CAD/month contract, which I already have anyway since I use a lot of data. So if the X is like 400CAD with the same contract price, I think I'll get that one. By comparison, the Note 8 is 400CAD with 85/month contract, and it's the same full price as the X.

I'm clearly convincing myself to buy the X...

Starting contemplating maybe getting the X, haha. Probably would do the upgrade program since I definitely don't want to shell out the ridiculous all upfront. Probably should just do the 8. I don't really take pictures or watch much on my phone...

I think it's interesting that your cell dictates the cost of your data bill. In the US the cost for data is separate from the cost of the phone.

Heads up for those looking to get the Apple Watch Series 3 LTE on T-Mo:

Pretty shitty that they cap the speed but charge the same $10 as everyone else. $10 is also ridiculous for a wearable - make it $5 and I think you get a lot more people to go for it.

Help me out y'all. I was planning on going for the X but it may not be the best idea for me right now. Affordability isn't the issue, it's just that I need a new phone pretty quickly. The iPhone 8 isn't selling at the speed that I thought it would and could preorder now and have it next week. Plus the Google Pixel 2 conference is on the 4th and the price of the original (my current phone) is going to drop, so the resale value is going to drop also. Should I go with the 8 with the upgrade program and in a year get the big upgrade or just go through with the X?

  9. Not a bad idea if you really want/need a phone within the next few months. Rumors are the X may be pushed out to next year.

Yeah, this is pretty dumb. I was considering the LTE model before the 3 was announced, but once I saw it was $10 I was out. The throttled data just sucks. As someone on MacRumors pointed out, this could hurt battery life as the device will have to use its radios longer. Honestly, I was hoping T-Mo was going to be like "Buy an Apple Watch through T-Mobile, get a free wearable line with AutoPay" sort of thing. Especially considering T-Mo often gives out special deals around Black Friday; I think last years was 3 lines for the price of two.

I'm assuming your second screen is blank since there is nothing on that link you posted.

  13. Forgot that there's a weird CSS bug with that specific alignment insert. Fixed.

Where did you see that? I saw that it's not expected to meet stock-demand balance until next year, but not that the release might be pushed out.

  17. That's what I meant. That the demand would mean we might not get it even if we order day one. I shoulda been clearer, my bad.

Oh ok no problem. I thought it would be weird to get rumors of a delayed release literally 4 days after the announcement.

Here is a question I haven't seen answered yet. How do you take a screenshot without a home button?

Curious what everyone's opinion is on Safari as a browser on the Mac? Never really used it as I was such a big user of Chrome before my switch over to OSX.

Legere has already come out and said this was a bad idea - will be 4G. But still $10 -

I used chrome for a long time because I thought it looked better and I like its mobile app way way more. But then I discovered it was a power hog after getting a new MBP so I begrudgingly use safari now. I've gotten used to it though, nothing wrong with it. speed difference is minimal/negligible to me and it's more reliable than chrome with opening tabs across devices.
