How do people use it for you? haha Like I know people just call others "bae" as a noun, so it's not grammatically correct, but I think the intention is like Hey bae, as in "Hey the person who comes before anyone else"

It's just used interchangeably with "babe" in the groups of people I know. Straight up never hear anybody say "before anyone else". I just know someone corny as hell saw the term get popular and tried to make it an acronym

I was listening to 137 in the car with my brother in law and he commented on it sounding like what someone would listen to on drugs

Yea that's always how I hear it used to, but I've always known it to stand for before anyone else. I've never known the word bae without knowing it as "before anyone else" but I'm also usually slow on the pick up of new slang, so maybe that's why haha

Bae allegedly standing for Before Anyone Else is about as realistic as saying "Yes I do drugs. I destroy rebuild until God shows"

hahahahahhahahahahahaha god damn I was (ok technically am) a big Craig Owens stan, and even that was too much for me to get behind back in the day.

But yea it doesn't make grammatical sense, but if you think about the way it's used like You're my bae, it does kind of make sense? Idk whatever

No it doesn't. No one would say that in a sentence.

@truelovewaits i'm playing Dear Me now and as much as i love self titled, that one is slightly better and that's saying a lot since s/t is so good in its own right. Both records are excellent. What a band.

You gotta stretch the imagination! don't think of bae as literally meaning that I am saying hello before anyone else, "before anyone else" is the sentiment behind the noun bae, defined as "the person who comes before anyone else in your life"

Basically it's a pretty damn stupid word

Ok but wait you haven't read what I just posted. I wasn't defending it, just explaining what it means.

I think "BAE" and "bae" are two totally separate things that got conflated along the way, with "bae" being retconned into "BAE" because a bunch of dumb white people didn't understand "bae".

BAE, meaning "before anyone else", is internet speak, like: "I was into chia seeds BAE" or "@Jason Tate was on the Brand New train BAE". I don't think this is ever used outside i

But "bae" is a slang term used as a term of endearment. It is used on the internet as well, but is also frequently used IRL.
