Relapse is his worst album

 

i finally listened to it today, and... yikes, dude. the accents...

 

it's not on the same level as his earlier stuff, but I'll take almost all of it over Encore, Recover and MMLP 2

 

I'm on your side man, I think a lot of Relapse is bad but I think it has some good stuff on there too, definitely better than Recovery and MMLP2. I think I'd put Encore kind of on par with it. Some good stuff, some bad.

 

idk the way I am with Eminem, I'll literally never want to listen to any of his stuff besides SSLP and MMLP, there's just no point for me. so i guess there's a degree of nuance i'm ignoring but to me all of them are the same beyond those two

 

I'm similar except I'll listen to TES some times too because I think that's great and definitely way better than what came after. Encore and Relapse I can find a lot to like on but I think part of that is because I spent so much time with them because of how much I liked Eminem. Recovery just gets worse whenever I do revisit it and I've only listened to MMLP2 like three or four times and I don't want to go back.

 

Bad Guy is the only good track on MMLP2 i think

 

I don't even like that. I like Nate Ruess and was kind of in to the song that sounds kind of countryish but otherwise nahhh

 

Stan is his best song

 

Eminem is rubbish.

 

he is now.

 

He can still deliver from a rhythmic standpoint when he wants to but his lyrics are completely devoid of anything remotely interesting now.

 

even that's questionable, he's so focused on contorting rhymes that you end up with verses like the "nitwit" line in Bad Guy where he enunciates and times it so annoyingly

 

but i mean in general yeah his way of manipulating words is still arguably incomparable

 

I don't think his words flow any more at all, he almost always runs himself into a wall where he just halts in the middle of a line and it sounds so clumsy. He has next to no sense of melody or rhythm any more which is one of the things I used to find so amazing about him, how he would come up with these fantastic lines and wordplay and put them into a catchy melody, making them flow so effortlessly. Now it sounds like he's trying so hard and I honestly think his stuff is worse than most rappers I hear, even without focusing on the actual content of the lyrics.

 

Lil Wayne is pretty awful too

 

Eminem's misogyny and homophobia are unbearable

Eminem singing a song with Elton John does not abstain him from being homophobic.

ESPECIALLY when he "didn't even know Elton John was gay"

 

But when Eminimem raps about homophobic things it just means he's gay
