I'm just pretending to be busy in my office. I'm supposed to be filling in for one of our mechanics, but I don't want to get sweaty and dirty. I'm what's wrong with America.

 

Does anybody else here type emails at work but wait until the end of the day to send them so you don't have to deal with a response until the next day? (me right now)

I've been known to do this, though I try not to make it a habit.

This is true!

 

Absolutely, but extended to most anything work-related, period. It's astonishing in accounting how minimal your accomplishments can be in daily operations, and yet still receive a pat on the back from managers who have no idea what you really do lol. All they care about is a PowerPoint presentation with the arrows pointing up and no red letters. Most of my work is done by 12, and yet the shift runs from 730am-7-pm.

Edit: obviously this varies from business to business, I only manage about 140 GLs.

 

These are the best days. I have a powerpoint due by the end of the day, that I choose to send at the end of the day despite finishing it hours prior. Another tricky move, is to send something on a weekend that you completed on a weekday to make it seem like you were going above and beyond working on the weekend hahaha

>manager opens file
>last file save available: *Wednesday
>"he deserves a raise..."
>become CEO

 

Oh no, you need to edit something on Saturday, and then save and send

 

I don't ever want anyone to think I'm working on a weekend, because then the next weekend(s) they'll expect me to be working.

If ever I do work on a weekend (which happens about once every Brand New album cycle) I make sure I don't send whatever it was until first thing Monday morning.
