Seems like so many extra steps to unlock the phone

 

Man, I think this faceID is going to be the reason I don't buy it. I can think of so many instances when I don't wanna look at my phone to open it. Especially at a concert when I wanna take a quick picture.

There's an camera icon on the lock screen

 

It unlocks, doesn't open it. And you can slide up on camera like you can now btw.

 

Animojis are fucking nightmare fuel

But more important, the issue before was that compelling a password in response to a subpoena was possibly "testimonial" and therefore protected by the right against self incrimination. I doubt opening your eyes and looking at your phone is going to be considered testimonial.
