I must just miss when these threads turn shitty. Granted Blink thread moves so fast and I'm not constantly checking it.

 

I wish I could talk about how much I like the song and all that crap, but that thread is emotionally exhausting. I can't deal.

Debating between making chicken alfredo or pesto pasta for dinner. Life is hard.

 

Blink thread got really aggressive so I stopped reading it.

The dumbest thing is that no one is really all that upset, from what I can see. People (or person?) think the lyrics are dumb and mildly offensive. No one is shouting for boycotts or calling for blood, just that the lyrics to the song are disappointing compared to the perceived growth of blink/society in general since the time when those jokes were made in the past. I'm more annoyed with the reaction to someone potentially being offended by lyrics to a song, regardless of what they are. It's supposed to be stupid or take a joke are such lame, outdated responses. If you're bothered by someone being bothered, ignore it. Your voice doesn't matter and will only add fuel to an unneeded fire

 

What are the lyrics/jokes in question?

 

Something like, "I opened a pool so I could see d00dz naked. "

 

That's not offensive at all, but it is quite dumb.

 

purely in terms of comedy there isn't anything all that funny about it.

It's more offensively unfunny than out right offensive that's for sure.

I didn't even bother to go in there. I know better. 2006 Julie would have gone in there and started some unnecessary drama, but 2016 Julie is too old and way to tired today to even give a shit.

that lyric doesnt even make sense. do people swim naked? is the lyricist closeted or latently queer? will the pool be full of only men? is the pool in-ground? if not, does the pool have glass sides? if not, how will he see anything?

if your first way of trying to see some dick is "i'm gonna fill this glass pool with naked dudes" like no judgment but that strategy is severely non-optimal

personally i don't find that line offensive as a queer dude, but the moment people start talking over minorities to explain why they shouldn't be offended i'm probably already done with the conversation haha, there's way too much of that for me to waste time on the moments where it's "justified." i also should probably steer clear of the Blink thread, i pretty much only jam to them when I'm looking for some mindlessly catch pop punk, i never understood their massive fanbase personally

 

I dig some blink-182 but even when I was younger I didn't find the juvenile humor all that funny.

 

like am i incorrect though? can anyone speak to this? have you somehow managed to collect a swimming pool of naked men without anyone catching on? if so please PM me

 

Get a bunch of nintendo 3DS' with the newest Pokemon game on them, toss them in the pool, men will come and stay, the more men the better as they'll be trading starters with one another vigorously.

 

We're just getting too old for this shit.
