Honestly, I don't like making statements like that. Especially with a band that has constantly evolved and had change in sound. Far too broad of a context. I take no pleasure in touting one song over all the others.

 

People are crazy about it because it is a top 5 Brand New song

First match up was brutal. 2 of my top 3 on the album.

I love “Not the Sun” too, but “Degausser” is just next level.

Archers-I've always enjoyed Luca, and the Luca bomb is a great moment for sure. I think in the end I Just related to the lyrics and I liked the overall sound of Archers more as I spent more time with the album.

Jesus-These two songs and Millstone were always in my top 3 and fuck off for having Jesus face both of them. As others have said the whole "hey you beauty supreme" part, just the way it's sung and its lyrics, might be my favorite moment on the entire album. The layered vocals at the end too with the "I should be laughing right now"....if I don't stop talking I might talk myself out of my vote here. Jesus is simple and yet amazing. The lyrics are so so so so good. I just have to go with Jesus here as much as it pains me.

Yeah, if anything it appears to be underrated. When I saw that first recap of the totals for this round I got irrationally angry at how much it was losing by, and I think “Jesus” is great.

 

If you've spent any time in BN threads on AP or here you know it's not underrated at all within that community.
