Aside from the continuous issue that has yet to be resolved for me regarding my input cutting out and screen going black when HDR is on, I'm still happy I got the Pro. The quality of gaming and graphics are unreal. The stats on this are impressive but I remain a Sony fan.

 

Lol. Always amuses me when they say most powerful ever. Like no fucking shit. They're not going to pull a Nintendo and pull something out that Sony can shit on them for.

 

I think this Black Friday I will cave and upgrade to the Xbox One S. Hoping for $180 deal w/ pack in games.

About Life is Strange episode 5...
maybe I'm biased in that I'm a sucker for anything time travel, but I feel like the weirdness of the last episode is entirely earned. From the very beginning with the dream sequence of the storm, everything was leading up to Max's internal conflict of whether or not going through all that trouble to save Chloe was worth it, and the nightmare sequence is a good representation of that. At that point in the game, most everything else is resolved and it focuses in on the internal struggle of Max reconsidering all her decisions up until then. I found the sneaking around from flashlights and the melding of memories to be a fitting way for Max to realize that her using time travel to save Chloe over and over has its repercussions, which all leads up to the final choice in the game.

Um, excuse me? Infinite's ending wasn't bad at all, either. All these haters, man.

( Burial at Sea's ending was less of a mindfuck and consequently more emotionally fulfilling, admittedly.)

Faux-deep timetravel nonsense endings always make everything leading up to to them feel meaningless

 

I think this is one of those situations where mentioning that aspect of the ending for one game and then comparing it to the other ruins it for anyone who hasn't already played both. Same with some anime that I won't list for that very reason. But I don't know, maybe I'm too strict about trying not to spoil this kind of stuff.

Anyway, so maybe some of it is nonsensical; I don't see nonsense as inherently a bad thing. In broad terms, an ending that rewrites the events of the narrative shouldn't render everything leading up to it meaningless. The characters' struggle to get there (and your struggle playing through it) was kind of the whole point. An ending where harmony is more or less restored in that way, I see it as rewarding rather than "well what did I do all that for, then?"

 

Yeah probably best to spoiler both those posts for any that hasn't played LIS or Infinite yet. Especially as a few people were posting in this thread about playing LIS recently.

 

Last night a glitch on Amazon put the 1TB Forza Horizon 3 Xbox One S bundle for free in checkout. It was for about 2 minutes or less. I missed it by like 30 seconds...

Totally agree with you. I really enjoyed episode 5, not sure why people have been hating on it.

 

I did not spoil anything to be a dick or anything, I figured a two year old game that has a sequel out (or prequel) is fair game. If that's now he we roll here I'm sorry.

 

I mean, I don't even buy games until they're usually out for at least two years just because that's how long it takes for them to go on sale, but I understand that people have different criteria for these things. If people are just now getting to Life is Strange for the first time, i think maybe you should edit your posts to spoiler tag the game you're comparing it to. But it's not like you have to.

 

I’m glad Life is Strange wasn’t spoiled for me because my time with it was very special. I think it’s a good idea to always spoiler tag that game because it’s like 100% story regardless.

 

I don't even think I spoiled my ending because I still went super vague shout out to me
