By the way James Gray's next movie is tentatively called Ad Astra: Ad Astra - IMDb

Pretty stoked on it. Great cast already. The first collaboration between Brad Pitt and James Gray. They planned to work together on The Lost City of Z (2016), but Pitt dropped out due to scheduling conflicts. He remained on board as an executive producer.

I mean Jeff Nichols isn't an obvious pick at all so what are the odds. Now that i think about it I do remember commenting on your profile when you had a Take Shelter background on it. Also one of my favorite movies of all time

 

Take shelter is awesome. Midnight special was pretty good I thought.

Oh yeah I remember that! But yeah it really isn't an obvious pick at all. Did you like Midnight Special and Loving? I feel like whenever I post about Jeff Nichols in a movie thread I have to defend myself to that Morrissey dude

 

Dang I looove that movie so much! Michael Shannon and Jeff Nichols is my favorite filmmaker/actor duo

Todd Fields needs to make more movies. In The Bedroom and especially Little Children are stunning works of art. My favorite director even though he only directed those 2 movies. He was in Eyes Wide Shut and Battered Basterds of Baseball still the greatest documentary i have seen lately so he only cemented his place as a rockstar with that doc
