I think it's the best direction for them to have gone after Wildlife, I didn't want Wildlife Pt. II. With that said, I'd say maybe 70% of the tracks really work for me and the rest, I don't dislike, but they don't really stick with me.

Sidenote: that one-off track they released after Rooms, thirteen, is easily one of my favorite LD tracks.

Wildlife has more filler/songs I don't really like and his vocals are way better on rooms. Wildlife is great too but rooms is way more refined and concise and it gets the message across better. And the musicianship and songwriting is tighter

I haven't listened to that album since I thought that Balance and Composure were the second coming.

Rooms is tighter and the production value blows Wildlife out of the water, but just I enjoy more songs on Wildlife than I do on Rooms. It's an album I can listen to all the way through but I'll skip around on Rooms ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

There are solid arguments for both. Comes down to personal preference. Wildlife appeals to me more for what it represented to my younger self when it came out, rooms still holds up for where I am right now if that makes sense

And we all know that an opinion can't be wrong. We must all remember these wise words from our martyred leader.

It is really jarring though listening to a song like The Child We Lost and then Bitter Fruit cause sonically the latter just sounds so bad, comparatively

Edit your hometown is the low point of the album for me, real useless song in the scope of the record

We missed you Jack where have you been? Love me some Jack Black. I saw the Jumanji remake trailer before the Close Encounters screening and it actually looks kinda fun. Not usually a fan of remakes but Jack Black's role and The Rock were pretty funny. Might actually turn out to be decent.

I meant production wise, but yeah Edit Your Hometown is easily one of the weakest tracks. The second half saves it for me, but the first half is not that interesting.

Yeah production wise as a whole the album doesn't have a lot of depth or space to it, rooms just sounds fuller

That's not jack black. That looks like Mr Schneebly. Some crazy guy that substitute taught at my private school over a decade ago. We lost out on a lot of quality, standards based instruction, but dammit if we didn't learn to rock and to love ourselves. We love you Mr Schneebly.

I really need to get into La Dispute more. I mean I dig mwY so it's weird that I never really got into LD

The first time I saw them and didn't know their music I didn't like it. I then listened to their discography and fell in love. Then seeing them live was great. Rooms is definitely my fav from them

It was pretty rough. Luckily the venue had a bar out on the far side of the lobby area and my friend and I just grabbed a beer and talked shit on them.

I really liked the last two La Dispute records, but haven't listened in ages.
