My bad

 

I've been sitting here not doing homework for like two hours and I have class in 40 minutes

 

I've never seen the appeal in podcasts.

 

I wish I was the guy who came up with the idea for scented trash bags. dude must be raking it in

 

They're can be informational, sometimes funny, great for a long car ride. I've been consistently listening to three podcasts for nearly ten years and, as cheesy as this might sound, every week when I listen I feel like I'm hanging out with my best buds. Over the years there are reoccurring motifs and callbacks and you really do feel like you're part of it. I also will occasionally listen to something like Radiolab which is highly informational and incredibly entertaining and something you can just jump into without having any prior knowledge of the show. I suggest the episode called "Double-Blasted" which is about a Japanese man who survived both Hiroshima and Nagasaki.

As focal point entertainment, I agree. But for a commute, or to fill time at a desk job, they are literally the best thing on earth. Plus if you're a comedy nerd it's an endless stream of new material.

As a comedy nerd who spends at least 50% of their life commuting or at a desk, I live for them lol

 

thinking about posting an achievement on facebook. @lobstervegan and I ate every banana of the bunch. literally never happens

 

I listen to satellite radio all the time in my car.. just never a podcast. I think a large part of it stems from not being able to listen to anything at work. The idea of going home and listening to conversations I'm not a part of just isn't that appealing. Especially cause I'd rather be doing something myself. Now, there are some exceptions obviously where a podcast is highly informative and interesting, but I feel like I can read most of that stuff and it'll save me great amounts of time. But I do see the appeal and how you can feel like you're part of a group with the hosts of a podcast. Part of me wishes I was into them. I feel like I might enjoy the doughnut boys or whatever, but then I think my own strong opinions might make me resent them haha. I guess it really is just about not being in the right situation to ever listen.

That makes a lot of sense. I can see it being great for comedy while sitting at a desk.

That's still my favorite username on this site besides @Alien RIP
