Well, among my friends, which is clearly indicative of the general populations views on TDAG, we all pretty much have the same feelings on Handcuffs, but they all like Not the Sun more than I.

 

Among my friends, Handcuffs is gr9 and Archers is gr-not fine

Water in the Bible doesn't always have negative connotations. Especially in the new testament, it represents cleanliness. The old testament has ceremonial washings, the flood, even Jonah's experience in the water brought him back to do what he was supposed to. Then in the new testament, there's baptism and walking on water.

 

Also, you know the whole living water thing haha

 

Idk how people don't like Welcome to Bangkok or think it doesn't add anything to the album. To me, it literally sounds like the the devil and god raging inside Jesse and how it feels to him. The background screaming you hear towards the end legit frightened me when I first heard it and all I could think was, "damn".

 

i love every song on TDAG. I sometimes wish it was a weird double album with the demos but I am glad they are their separate entities

 

I can't fathom not liking Archers! Blasphemy I say!!

 

Eventually I will find another like me.

Archers is great live tho....it means I have time to go to the bathroom

Archers is one of my favorite BN songs but even putting that bias aside i don't hear anything that could be so controversial or weird about it to evoke anything more than an "eh not my style." That's also how I feel towards the anti-TBS crowd lolz

 

Yeah, I'm not saying it's a garbage song, but it doesn't work for me at all.

 

Me: I dislike Archers.

blakebeats: archers is objectively the worst Brand New song they've ever written, and I love TDAG but I'd put almost any song off of The Fray's self titled above Archers.

Opinions are opinions and all, but man... I think Not the Sun has just about the worst chorus ever so to see you say this about Archers is a little stunning.

 

It's definitely not the best. I love that damn verse and bridge tho. There's next to nil I like about Archers. Jesse's vocal delivery really bothers me.

 

I feel dumb for never getting into Radiohead.
