I picked Jaws over Boy but that was super tough because I think they're both lyrically brilliant but I love that bridge in Jaws so damn much, and the bassline at the end really ties the whole thing together.

me vs. maradona is one of my favorite BN songs, sad to see it getting pulverized.

I went through the setlists of the five times I've seen Brand New. I was curious to see which Deja songs I have never seen live-The Boy Who Blocked His Own Shot, Guernica, and Good To Know...

Good To Know is my favorite Deja track, by the way.

This is the setlist of a show I really regret missing. I had just graduated from college a couple months prior though and I was pretty broke.

Brand New Setlist at House of Blues, Cleveland

Lots of Deja there! And that second encore would be right up our alley.

 

WOW ending with that would be incredible to see

 

My other big Brand New regret (which was out of my control):

I was at an internship in southern Ohio during the summer of 2006 and one of the guys I worked with and I got tickets to see Brand New in Detroit. So one afternoon we left work early and drove a little over 4 hours to see them...only to find that the show was cancelled due to illness.

They played the night before in Chicago I believe and a couple nights later in Toronto but that was the one night that got cancelled. This was before Twitter and neither of us had smart phones so we didn't find out that it was cancelled until we were literally standing at the venue reading the sign on the door that said it was cancelled.

So we drove down to Toledo (about 45 minutes, where we both went to college), stopped at our favorite bar and played about $10 worth of Brand New songs on the jukebox. It was a very depressing evening!

Times that I have seen Brand New:

 

I've been lucky enough to see them 4 times, with #5 coming in October. The first was in 2014, second in 2015, and then twice in 2016.

 

The two times I saw them they played great sets, but never played Quiet Things which super bummed me out.

 

I never saw Quiet Things until last year (when they toured with Modern Baseball and The Front Bottoms). Glad to finally see them play it!
