Bubba is super shitty

Fitting that he always teams with the Briscoes

 

Story about meeting Bubba Ray Dudley last night. Might not be the greatest story, but I thought I was kind of cool and since I don’t have any friends who are wrestling fans I thought I would share it here.

I went to the ROH show in Dearborn last night. The last match before intermission was the Bully Ray/Briscoes tag match. Bully Ray really played up to the crowd, leading the fans in cheers and even brought a fan into the ring to give her a piece of the broken table before passing out the rest of the table to fans at ringside. Then got on the microphone and talked about how great the fans were and how great ROH is. Then they announced he’d be signing autographs during intermission.

I went to see him, and he was taking the time to pose for photos with every fan. When I got to the front of the line, I asked if what is a better feeling, leaving the ROH fans all happy or getting the ECW fans ready to riot and kill him. He said he likes doing both. I asked him if I could get a picture with him and he said sure. I went behind the table, then he turned to me and said “You know what, forget it, you can’t have a picture”. I thought he was just messing with me and asked if he was being serious and he started yelling at me telling me to get away from him. I was really bummed out, I didn’t even really want the autograph, I basically just paid so I could get the picture with him. I slowly started walking away and he kept yelling at me about my attitude problem and how I was being an asshole. Then he busted out the biggest laugh and told me to get next to him. He said “see what I did there, I was able to get you to hate me, then immediately get you to love me again” and took the picture with me. I told him I was pretty sure he was just messing with me but wasn’t going to take a chance and call him out. He laughed and said “You weren’t going to say shit to me because you shit your pants when I did that”.

He really was awesome. He could have just signed my photo and took the picture with me, but instead he did both and gave me a story for the rest of my life.

This is one story in a sea of very different stories. Pretty fair to say that one's disposition at a paid autograph appearance during intermission is an entirely different beast than when harassed outside of work

Yeah as Henry said Ultima Lucha is going on right now so that 6 month countdown until NXT/WWE is about to begin. Just a little weird that they finally make a two time champion of the tournament, but it's a guy who's very publicly said he's going to WWE as soon as he can, especially when there were some prime candidates to get that rub from the win (Keith Lee, Jeff Cobb, Matt Riddle, etc)
