I pay $500 a month for a 2 bedroom little house. Maybe $200 in utilities. I walk to work whenever it's nice outside but I'm still broke as fuck paying school loans, med bills, medication.

 

You can get like a mansion in some places for the same price as a condo in the city lol

 

In the second class of EC101 I took we learned that rent control always fails, actually. Because the supply/demand graph says so.

They don't pay their worker a wage that corresponds to the cost of living in the area.

I wonder what that would be for that area. I think they say rent is supposed to be no more than 30% of your take home earnings.

 

The one bedroom apartments I've been looking at are the same cost as the five bedroom house my girlfriend's family lives in

 

A cost of living that they have had a massive part in inflating to insane levels

 

There are so many variables with rent and certain areas / parts of states.

Like, my rent includes cable & internet, heat, underground heated parking labeled parking spot (so no parking fee like some cities have) so while the amount I pay looks high, if I lived elsewhere and added that stuff in after it could be even more.

However there are houses I could buy / rent that would be cheaper but those are bare bones with all utilities being extra and (if I bought) then having to do and buy equipment for yard work / snow removal.

Paying for housing in general, or after a certain amount of time, is just infuriating.

 

I guess I'm not surprised johnny rotten is a right winger considering pil played shows behind a curtain/screen and didn't understand why people were mad

Probably a lot. I use a lot of products that come from companies I don't agree with on a lot of issues tho.
