we're all a bunch of weirdos on a quest to belong Prestigious

Haha I was 15 and in 9th grade. I remember taking money I had earned from mowing my grandpas lawn and his neighbors lawn to go buy Where You Want to Be. Also that fall when The Used album In Love and Death came out me and my friends stole my parents Suburban while they were out of town and drove it to the record store to buy it. I was still only 15 and like 9 months away from my license. One of my friends left the door ajar when we got back to my house and it killed the battery so when my parents got home they found out I had taken it joy riding. I got grounded for a goooood while haha

TBH I'm sitting at my set right now and just played through Out Of Mana. Super fun, not nearly as easy as you'd think. Brian is v importante.

So a good example of how drummers aren't "easily replaced" is Coheed. When Josh was replaced by Chris it changed their sound drastically for the worse. And Chris is a very very talented drummer... but he was different than Josh. When Josh came back he brought the "grooviness" that was missing!

Exactly. Coheed is a prime example. Chris was a complete mismatch for Coheed and it showed

Oh god I only wish Neverender had been filmed with Josh or literally anyone else. Chris was so not made for that band.

On the flip side I wish their touring keyboardist would be made a full member because he adds a lot to those songs

Touring band members are interesting to me. Like James Dewees playing keys for MCR or Robin playing extra guitar/percussion/keys for JEW. Kinda wish they'd be relegated to full time but I guess there's a reason they choose to be touring members. The National also have like two extra members to play the extra keys/synth/guitar etc parts.

Then there's Jason White who became a member of Green Day then dropped back to being a touring member but that was more to do with battling cancer I suppose.

And I just want to reiterate... Chris is a very talented drummer. But like has been said, a complete mismatch for that band. To think that you could swap out any drummer or bass player with Brian and Garrett and not have any change in sound is ridiculous

I feel like a lot of it is some of these bands have been together for a long time and their writing process works for each other and they don't want to add another element to that. Like with Jimmy Eat World, we know it's been the same four guys since Clarity. I always imagined they haven't added Robin full time because they prefer to write the songs as just a quartet and then take him out on the road to replicate that stuff.

Also, didn't know Coheed had a keyboardist on tour with them. Can't say I remember there being one on stage when I saw them back in 2013 but that was a while ago at this point and I'm not much of a fan anymore of them.

I saw Coheed when they toured with Chris. Setlist wise it was one of my favorite shows, but it still felt weird. Seeing them with Josh back on this last tour for Good Apollo really showed how missed he was.

Is the supporter's thread really all that different? Do we get Jason telling stories about holding vin's hair while he puked? Or is it mostly just like this thread?

Yes...but a thing isn't beautiful because it lasts

Hey, we thought this could be fun for you guys. Our baby boy was born this morning, and we just realized absolutely no music has touched his ears yet. We were thinking let SciFi be the first thing that does, because why not. Can't decide on a song, however...so what does everybody want Ezra to hear before literally anything else in his existence? Sound off.
