I think I started lurking AP front page and reviews around 07 and then I joined and started posting in May of 09

That is pretty funny though. It's a small world!

A couple other thoughts:

1) I'm a fan of Friday weddings
2) I'm 33 and I still mess up all the time on the whole "this Wednesday vs. next Wednesday" thing. I'll get it someday!

 

I thought I was too late for the marriage talk when it seemed to drop off for a page, but now I see it's up again! Another married person over here *waves*. I try to explain to her what's going on in here all the time but I can never do it absolute justice lol.

We got married the same summer when Trouble Will Find Me came out and I had the DJ pull a few songs from it because I was so high on it. I Need My Girl was my jam at the wedding and everyone else was like, idk whether this is supposed to be sad or sweet or what.

Also, Existentialism on Prom Night was out first dance song. I was basically given full control over music because my wife knows how particular I am with it.

 

Our first dance song was First Day Of My Life by Bright Eyes.

...I probably need to buy a gift sometime in the next few days.

 

Hey I'm married. Got married by Niagara Falls. It was actually my first time remembering seeing the falls(went there at 3 or 4 years old) Really surreal moment.

 

Been married 2 weeks shy of 6 years!

 

Oh man, I'm bummed that I kind of missed out on SO talk. My girlfriend definitely knows about the site and likes it. Sometimes she'll talk about creating an account, but I doubt she ever will lol. Actually, when I told her AP was shutting down she was legitimately worried about me. She was pretty relieved when I told her Chorus would take its place. And yes, she 100% knows about blakebeats.

In other news, I think I joined AP around 2013, maybe 2014, and have been around on Chorus since day one. In fact, I think I joined Chorus the day before it went officially public because I found a link to the beta on AP. I have a lot of fun around here!

 

My wife has heard all about this site (and absolutepunk) from me but I don't think she's ever gone to either site.

She has listened to a couple of the podcasts when she's been in the car with me and she seems to enjoy them though.

 

It's helpful that my girlfriend and I overlap a lot in musical taste. Her favorite bands are Brand New, The Smiths, Circa Survive, and Paramore. Besides posting around the forums, she is almost always the first person I tell about a new record or new band I'm really into.

She also listened to the last episode of Encore with me since she loves Science Fiction. She liked it!

 

We want this to be our first dance song too. Using that song become cliché over the years but Bright Eyes is one of the things that brought us together (I hated them for dumb reasons, they were her favorite band, now they're my second favorite band, and IWAIM is a big part of that), so it'll probably still be our first dance song. Also screw the idea that you can't do something because it's cliché lol

 

My first dance song was Invented by Jimmy Eat World performed by my band mates.

 

We probably won't even get engaged for a few years, but it's something we've talked about and plan to do eventually. That being said, our first dance will probably be to Stranger Things Have Happened by Foo Fighters. Neither of us are really fans of the band, but that song kind of brought us together, strangely (pun intended).

 

Married five months ago and our first dance was Dustin Kensrue "Of Crows and Crowns".

Our recessional song was "Stay with me" by Thrice.

 

If it's right for you guys, who cares if it's cliche or not? Bright Eyes is one of my wife's favorite artists and I enjoy him/them so it worked out pretty well! I kind of wanted I'll Catch You by The Get Up Kids but my wife wasn't too familiar with that.

 

This really took a turn, geez.

ha, im about to get engaged in a couple months and my girl and i already talk hypotheticals about this sort of thing. She's been pretty cool about letting me get my input on music input...so far. when i want like vices or some shit played im sure ill get shut down haha

 

that would be mine had I not gotten my brother into bright eyes to steal it for his.

 

I wanted First Day of My Life to be our first dance but wife didn't...so we settled for First day of my life as the song that went on immediately after we were announced husband and wife.

 

Hopefully she says yes
