'Talk' grew from one of my least favorite tracks from these guys to one of my favorites. The self-deprecating lyrics finally clicked.

One of the reasons I fell in love with this band is I come off as extra/pretentious by nature and matty is frequently wrestling with this in his songs.

They're teasing their new stage layout and possibly an interactive art piece?

So basically we can expect something June 2018?

June 1st is the date they're throwing around. I forget why but June 1st is an important date to the band so it makes sense.

IIRC they found the band name written as 1st June 1975 in a book or poem

I'd be down with a dreamier, more ambient record, it'd be great for night driving.

If they made a whole album of stuff like Me and fallingforyou it would be the best thing ever.

They should go the dream pop route.

You think the IG story is something new for album or them putzing around??

Probably a little of both. I mean, they're in studio figuring out MFC stuff, so seeing what works and what doesn't.

I wouldn't be surprised if we don't hear anything like it when the albums out. A lot can change in 9 months.

Finally getting around to listening to the 1975 influences (listening to Brian Eno's "Music for xxxxxx" series. Also have

    The Smiths
    The Cure

Anyone else have a listing of essential listening for the 1975 influences?

The Blue Nile - Hats. Amazing record from a very underrated band.

    LCD Soundsystem clearly influenced "Sex"

    Michael Jackson - Bad
Prince - They have stated his last album influenced "UGH!", production wise.
    Peter Gabriel's "So".
    My Bloody Valentine
    Helios - Halfing the Compass
Fleetwood Mac - tango in the night
"Love Me" is essentially "Fame" by Bowie.
Boyz II men, other rnb artists, I'd post more but I'm on my phone.

    Thanks so much!!

Listening to the Blue Nile right now...totally A Change of Heart in the way the song is composed.

I've listened to most of those! Just need to get Helios in there
