Mayday Parade was one of my first obsessions. I loved that band at the time like I've loved few other bands since. I totally would have gone to one of the A Lesson in Romantics shows if it had come around here.

2005-2008 was a hotbed for this stuff, for me. Gatsbys and The Junior Varsity were my two favorite bands in this period lol

The later era Drive Thru roster had some cool stuff. Had a sampler from 2005 when I was in HS. Definitely was alone on that one haha

it's always interesting because i was definitely very far behind the curve compared to my musical peers in terms of where i started and my progression, i just moved quickly, haha

Yeah same here. It wasnt pretty hah. Even so I still feel like I can go back to what I listened to in freshman year and still find enjoyment in it

I like Mayday Parade but I think ALIR is one of the most overrated pop rock records from this era and they went on to do much better things

It was so hard to find the most on youtube. They had some demos before they broke up that were cool too.

Also FUCK YES Search/Rescue, loved that record

    music is all we got

this is the best thread on this website

I still think Favorite Fix by Artist vs Poet is like, the best record to come out of this era. I loved so many bands more than AvP but damn that record is perfect.

both of these posts remind me that pop rock bands who had hype EP were all very bad at making full lengths hahaha. Those two were better than some others but killed it on first EPs

oh FNB, nova pop rock 4 lyf, there's a picture of one of the guys with a signed message for me on the internet lol

I definitely friended a bunch of random band people back in the day, ended up getting some interviews out of that so I guess that panned out lol
