Heres the soundtrack to the first game (I presume you're playing this rather than the new one as you mention Max). I can't remember which song that is off the top of my head as I played the game ages ago. It might be Obstacles by Syd Matters (that was my fav on the soundtrack)

 

I got to the part where Max is meeting up with Warren and I'm just being nice because I want to be hated.

 

Bringing up that old discussion about story-related progress "achievements"... I'm using Telltale Batman's chapter achievements to pace myself, playing only two chapters a day, one episode a week, so that's something. Really want to take my time on this one because I'm really enjoying it so far. Regardless, Falcone getting shot and the direct aftermath early in Episode 2 warranted a little break, I think.

tbh, as much as I've genuinely enjoyed some of them, no Telltale I've played so far has had the same kind of agonizing, simultaneous "omg I can't believe that just happened I need to take a breather" and "omg what's going to happen next? I have to keep going" feeling of Life is Strange.

 

Life Is Strange is one of the best games of the last 10 years

 

LiS is a decent game but to say it's the best in 10 years? I can't join you on that.

 

Also, Second Son was an awesome game in the PS4's early years and it's cool that people who didn't play it yet get a chance to. Neon powers are the best thing about the game imo.

 

Friend group on Facebook talking about their favorite rpgs like FF and Persona and I'm here like Hey you guys play any Bethesda or Bioware? Just another instance of me realizing how incompatible some of our tastes actually are even though we like the same kinds of things. Hm.

 

Life is Strange has great characters/music/setting but the story never pulled me in. It's like a bad season of a really good tv show.

Would be sweet if the new one is better.

 

It was teen angst on a bad WB show plot in 2000.

Well yeah, it's still a video game. Not quite top tier CW is about what I expect. The atmosphere made up for it. It's the best execution this sub-genre of games has seen I think.

 

Hopefully LiS 2 is good. Surely there will be a new cast?

Excited to play LiS 2. Will be interesting with it being a prequel and not having the time powers.

 

This prequel is not LiS 2. I mean it's the second game, but LiS 2 is coming in a few years.

 

The prequel is not LiS 2. The prequel is by a different studio, the LiS studio is making a sequel with completely new characters and so on.

was playing some more Last of Us last night. goddamn it legit made me jump out of my seat. had not experiences that level of creepiness in the game yet haha. it was after a thing with an elevator, water, and a hallway full of spores. feel like that gives enough details without spoiling anything haha. I know it's an older game, but still.

 

I want to play Remember Me. Hopefully it becomes BC at some point.

Also, I heard Dontnod have another IP coming and it's supposed to be published by Bandai Namco under the same indie game division that did Little Nightmares and Get Even so that's pretty exciting.

I have seen that one but there might be another as well. I'll see if I can find it.
