Rocket League tournament starts Saturday and my team is playing a team called Voltage. Look them up on YouTube, I'm terrified.

Only reason I have PS Plus is for the games haha. No interest in multiplayer anything, then again I don't really have friends.

What is babymetal?

Same, I haven't been too interested in any in a few months but there was enough interest to at least DL them. I don't think I'm DLing any of these but oh well I have plenty to play.

This is funny because of what was announced today for them lol.

 

J-Pop and nu-metal

 

This sounds like something I hear straight out of an anime.

It's so lit though.

 

1) no one knows what the NX is, or looks like, so the statement that handhelds are a dying breed is about as accurate as saying they were a dying breed at any point in the last 20 years. Handheld systems have always been Nintendo's moneymaker. Literally every other handheld has lost to Nintendo since 1989.

2) Nintendo is not Sega. This is such a bad comparison I don't even know where to begin, so I won't. Read the book Console Wars, not as an aside - it's just a really entertaining look at the Sega/Nintendo battle in the 90s, with a lot of history.

3) Concerning developers, let's specify. The WiiU and 3DS have both been huge havens for indie developers. AAA titles from third parties? Sure, not at all really. But it's not accurate to say developers don't want to be on Nintendo platforms.

4) Dream on.

 

So angry. Opinions are allowed. We shall see what happens when the NX comes out. I love Nintendo just as much as the next person and I want nothing but the best for them.

 

Not at all angry. And you're right, we'll have to wait and see.

 

Nintendo will be fine. Sega's downfall was due to bad business decisions and poor timing. As you may recall, the Genesis was honestly Sega's last big success console-wise. The Saturn was dead on arrival and the Dreamcast, while a great console in it's own right, came out at the wrong time with the PS2 looming in the near distance. Nintendo may not be the juggernaut they once were but they're still doing alright in their own way. Plus, if the rumors about the NX are true, it just might be what gets them back at the top.

 

Also, nothing wrong with the PS Plus lineup for next month in my opinion. You know what's great about the games they give out? You can just store them in your library and when you run out of stuff to play, you can download them and try them out. I can agree that Sony could give out more but I'm okay with what they give, more stuff for me to play later in my book.

 

The problem with handholds now is that portability is a big factor, we've all got smartphones to lug around and less pocket space as a result (as trivial as it seems) may play a role in less desire for handhelds.

 

I honestly don't care much for mobile gaming, most of the games are literally garbage or knock off clones of what's worked in the past. That's what stopping smartphones from replacing handhelds in my opinion, they have yet to be a viable alternative. Not to mention that battery life is a major issue, I can recall a game like Fallout Shelter draining my fully charged battery in like an hour and a half. It's still got a way to go.

 

Only reason I have a 3DS is for the pokemanz

 

I haven't owned a Gameboy since the GBC, get on my sad level.

Really excited for Tropico 5 on PS+ next month. Been wanting to pull the trigger on it for a while now, so will be one that definitely make it value for money for another month for me. £40 a year, but I'm getting a £20 game I 100% would've otherwise bought. No complaints there.

 

I don't know what to think any more.

Yeah, it does sound the like MW1 remaster with Infinite Warfare is real. This is pretty cool, because the rumors for a MW collection way back in mid-2013 and even into 2014 were always baseless. Now it seems there is fuel to the fire :D

 

The question is whether it'll be the full game or whether it'll be just the single player. I'd hope they're not stupid enough to make it just the single player...
