I was trying to describe myself to someone

I don't think that's unreasonable. He feels his best position is through the middle. Arsenal won't give him that and so he wants to leave. It would then be stupid to go to Chelsea unless they intend to have him play centrally. I mean, if he expects a starting position without any effort, that's fairly poor of him. I don't get the impression that Ox is a workshy kind of player though.

That being said, if he wants to play centrally, maybe he needs to drop down a tier (outside the top 6, I mean, not a whole division) to a team where he would be an obviously better choice.

    Ox can be Gylfi's replacement.

  3. Spurs have signed 3 defenders and a 3rd choice GK. Hoping to see an attacking player signed before the window closes. No clue who that'll be.

Agreed that he can ask to play where he feels he would play best, but he needs to be aware that he has natural ability as a wide player also, and managers who wish to make use of those attributes have the right to play him wide if they feel it's in the teams best interests. He's got to show that he's better centrally than the options Arsenal/Chelsea/whoever has atm, and he's not really been able to do that recently.
Him dropping down to a non-top 6 team is a good shout though - he should go back to Southampton!!!

He didn't refuse to play the position, he decided not to sign an extension.

If he shows up in his Euro 2016 form I am all about that loan.

Ox to Liverpool probably means Coutinho is gone to us, then, yeah?

No, we were signing Ox anyway. Lemar is the more important one to watch out for.

How many players have rejected Chelsea this summer now?

Yeah, usually I'm not too happy when Liverpool try and strengthen their squad, but this has no effect on me. Don't think it improves them at all to be honest. He's got to be like, 6th choice? 5th maybe?

Basically depth. Should give us some versatility/allow us to rest other players in cup games and once the fixtures become congested in the middle of the season. Decent player, think he could become a bit more productive now that he's in a spot he wants to be, a position he prefers, and surrounded by a bunch of his england teammates. I know he's close with lallana/hendo/sturridge.

I guess the biggest benefit, even if he himself disagrees, is that's it's depth in numerous positions. £40 million is an awful lot of depth, but that's the market I suppose. Experience too.

  17. Liverpool adding Lemar is crazy

The fee is silly, but Drinkwater is probably gonna cost Chelsea 40 million too. We're going from no european football to CL too so the squad needed bodies. If we qualify again next year, we're not going to need to do as much business. If we don't, we'll trim. We made net profit last summer and basically hadn't spent much net to this point. And Coutinho will go for a mint when the time comes.

At Arsenal, "money for major signings" always end up like my second sock. I put two in the dryer, but I only ever come out with one. No one is ever quite sure where the other one got off to.

Ox to Liverpool, does that make Liverpool's attack 5th best now?

Adding Ox makes it the 7th best now.
