I don't believe that ATL and ADTR outdraw Blink. I don't have any data, but that doesn't *feel* true.

My thoughts on bored to death:

Gave it a 4/5...the best blink-182 since 2003. At first it reminded me A LOT of "After Midnight", the rhythm of the guitars, the powerful drumming, "on and on and on"/"over and over and over". A few listens in and BTD is clearly it's own beast and, as many have said, sounds like something that could've naturally come after TOYPAJ or untitled.

    Pros:
-The drums: Travis kills it from start to finish. It sounds so obvious but Travis has driven the band rhythmically since he joined.
-The pre-chorus/chorus: I honestly found the verses to be a little meh, but when you hear Mark go "I....I'm not coming home" you know something explosive is coming. And boy does it. What better way to introduce Matt to the world than that chorus? He belts out those notes and you feel it. Every time I hear "Life is too short to last long" I have to sing along. This will be so fantastic live. So melodic. Also love that the two pre-choruses (sounds weird) had different guitar lines.
-The bridge - I absolutely HATED this at first. The "oh oh" Tom crap that I thought would die but there it is. But then Mark comes in, it's not just yodeling. It tells it's own story! Lyrically and sonically it stands apart from the song but fits in too, does that make any sense? I mean they have so many layers in it. It tells us what about life can bore us to death. Love it.

    Cons:
-The verses: Just didn't feel them, partly because the other parts of the song stand out so much. Plus, I have a high standard for blink verses (see: "Apple Shampoo", "Dammit", "Josie", "Dysentary Gary", "Feeling this").
-Mark and Matt sound too alike. I couldn't tell the second verse was Matt until like 10 listens in, with my headphones turned up high. I know this was a fear from before but when they were live, they sounded distinct. Matt even sounded more like Tom then. I'm not sure if it was produced this way.
-The outro: Don't kill me here but I'm not a fan of outros in general. Obviously it's a great place for Travis to flex and he does but the song could end fine without it. Also, too much yodeling.

    I can't wait for California.

It's not. Blink haven't toured in like 5 years to this extent and they were playing the same huge venues that I don't think ADTR have whilst headlining.

I know we get the album pre-order, but can we expect tour pre-sale tomorrow as well?

    I am a haunted house. I'm superstitious.

I guess my only con is related to the volume of the drums on the mix. They should be louder and more agressive, just like in any other blink record.

If you look in the top right corner of the lyric video, there's an info button that reveals album preorder and tickets. Both just lead to the blink homepage for now, but tomorrow it'll probably be up.

I'll admit I didn't listen to the iTunes/Spotify version with good headphones yet. I could be wrong. Still, such a minor issue, I'm 100% happy with what we got.

Blink played the Bethlehem venue they're playing in June in 2013 as well. ADTR has headlined there as well but also had a stacked as shit bill with ATL, Pierce The Veil, and The Wonder Years. Blink is bigger. Though plenty of people will come out for ATL and ADTR, those kids also love the shit out of at least Blink singles.

Do you guys think this release will have a sizable impact on the younger generation? It's crazy to think that 16 year olds were 3 when untitled was released.

Oh, good look! I've been playing it on Apple Music so I missed that from the leaked stream earlier. I guess 10am is go time tomorrow for us east coasters. Credit card will be ready haha.

It really should based on the sound and the general theme (assuming they're in a similar mold to BTD). I think that's why it's so smart for them to tour with ADTR and ATL.

  17. I don't think they'll hit FOB popularity (which bums me out) but I think they'll make a dent. I think plenty of teens right now know Blink and like them.

haha I can see that. Personally, I think they have it just right and the drums sound a bit louder during the outro and it's awesome.

This won't have the radio-appeal of songs like "centuries" and whatever. Which is fine...call me selfish but this is the sound I want out of blink.

    I think

    verse 1 mark
    chorus 1 matt
    verse 2 matt
    chorus 2 mark
