Damn, that's high praise. I'm gonna hold off on listening to anymore until I've got the full album.

Love this one. That outro is just killer. This song reminds me a bit of Lazarus in how it all builds up to this climactic outro.

Song's pretty cool. But I'm all but certain the production will put a ceiling on how much I enjoy this record. Dammit Yip.

I'm just glad it doesn't sound like Descensus production from what I've heard so far. Especially the drums

It sounds worse to me. The high end is so rolled off it's practically nonexistent. All 3 of these songs sound like they're being played with a pillow in front of my speakers.

I'm listening with very flat Eq headphones and thought the mix was great, I could hear everything going on really well. The guitar tones were fantastic

One thing that always stands out to me and it's so fucking tiny and stupid, but sounds like Anthony's pop shield went out the window on the "inside the catacombs" line on "Lustration".

Man, I just don't hear the production complaints at all, but then again Yip hasn't bothered me for years now. I don't think these new songs or Descensus are the best sounding things in the world, but I just genuinely don't hear what the people who don't like it are hearing.

Not going to listen to this new track, though. I can't do album closers out of context.

I've noticed this too... they could have used a de-esser there or something haha. I thought I was the only one who noticed that

Yeah idk about this album yet obviously. I'm not even judging the singles yet either personally.

But honestly Descensus production sounds SO unpleasant imo when you listen to it after listening to literally anything else. The drums are really weird. It takes my ears like a whole 2 songs to adjust when I want to listen to it.

That's so weird to me. Not that I don't believe you or anything, I just honestly have never thought anything of it. There are, of course, albums I think have better production, but I've never even considered that the production on that record could be considered such a negative thing. More than anything, I'm just curious why some people are more attuned to production issues than others.

Yeah well honestly I like plenty of music (a whole lot) that has what I consider to be bad production.

I can get past it under the right circumstances and it's rarely an all or nothing thing for me personally

Some others may feel differently I suppose if this forum is anything to go on. For example, that Letlive album that everyone talks about is an interesting/funny conversation point around here every time it comes up.

Yeah the Descensus production has its issues. However, there's never been a Circa album whose production sounded better than mediocre, so I've never thought much of it.

In the case of these singles, it's a very particular and annoying issue I can identify: the high end is gutted. If I EQ everything above 2 kHZ up by 3-5 dB, it sounds roughly like I imagine it should. So I guess there are far worse issues to have that aren't so easily correctable, at least

If only everything was produced like the new Manchester or Brand New...

Either way. New song is great. Def my favorite of the 3 released.

This is looking like it's gonna be a contender for my fav circa album since OLG

This is also the best guitars have sounded on a Yip produced circa track.

Used to be a big Circa fan but sort of lost interest after BSN. Yet to hear any of their new stuff so hoping it will get me back into them again!
