Going back to 137, that last chorus was made to be played in arenas. Sounds huge and would make for a great sing-along moment, especially after the bomb Vin drops on guitar.

 

Agreed. Jesse is better slightly harnessed. Thi is the reason "No Control", "Waste" and "Can't Get it Out" are 3 of the absolute best songs on the record. And 3 of the strongest in their entire disco.

 

Haha this drives my buddy insane that it isn't 4:51 long.

my guess is that it was supposed to be 4:51 and then in the mastering or mixing somehow a few seconds were added on haha, that happens sometimes

 

The album is full of Easter eggs and inside nods. We'll probably be uncovering them years from now, just like how I only learned today about the hidden recording on In a Jar.

has anyone done a full discog run yet? I imagine its a pretty damn good one, especially from devil and god on what a 3 record run. might actually be my favorite 3 album run.. Thrices comes close with Vhiessu-Alchemy-Beggars.

never knew that devil and god wasn't mixed by Sapone, was done by Rich Costey... also mastered by Emily Lazar, so shes mastered their last 3 records.

 

I knew it wouldn't last when they told me the new mg album sounds like a shitty Cursive cover band.

Yeah that's my feeling on it too, I just feel for a band that doesn't put much effort into any promo, press etc. going through making a site like that seems very unlike them. Would be cool if it turns out to be something though.

Not to stay on the 70x7 discussion, but I swear I remember reading an interview with someone from the LIHC scene stating that 70x7 and There's No I In Team were meant to be pop punk versions of rap diss tracks, basically a marketing scheme between the two bands.

 

I'm sure this has been discussed in one of the 489 pages on here, but does anyone know what is said in conversation at the end of Batter Up? With like 17 seconds left on the album? You can hear Jesse and maybe Vin talking.

i'm trying to catch up on other stuff that came out in the past week but i echo the sentiment that the final chorus on 137 is a freaking powerhouse. i can't wait to see them bomb into that live.

 

I did a discog run the other day, this time including daisy, definitely one of (if not the best) the best overall discogs from any artist
