Wrecked 'em? Damn near killed 'em!

My friend Steve introduced me to them. It was 2005 and he had "Kill the Music" on his Myspace page. I was over his house one day and asked "dude, who's that band on your Myspace page?" Then he put on "Bored Stiff" for me and I was sold.

  2. My first exposure was when I downloaded Pornogratherapy, Punch Drunk, Crocodiles and a few others on Napster.

I remember getting Ebolarama off of either Pure Volume or some compilation cd. I really dug the song but never actually looked into the band until my friend bought Gutter Phenomenon. We'd blast it in his car on the weekends while driving around our tiny town looking for something to do. After seeing them for the first time I was obsessed and have been ever since.

My introduction to ETID was catching them on tour with Cave In, From Autumn to Ashes, and Funeral for a Friend shortly after Hot Damn! came out. Going into the show, I was only familiar with FATA and FFAF, but left blown away with ETID. Their stage presence and ferocity couldn't be matched. Picked up HD! and have been a fan ever since.

I heard Ex Lives a few months after it came out and was like "eh, it's fine." Didn't check out he band again until I saw massive praise for FPU, and that one got me hooked.

I stumbled upon Decayin' With the Boys, I think on Spotify? It might have been the video first on Youtube, not sure. But it was right around when FPU came out. And I was like "whoa this shit is great" so I kind of just went from there

Oh but I do think I had heard The New Black yeeeeeeeears back because it has already sounded familiar to me, but I dunno where. I found out it was on Guitar Hero 2 so there's a good chance it was from there.

Randomly youtube'd them after reading about them somewhere and found the video for Wanderlust.

The sardonicness of it sold me instantly.

First heard either Ebolarama or Godspeed Us to Sea on a wrestling game back in 2004 I think. I've been hooked ever since.

Heard all the hype about FPU so I threw it in while driving on tour. The breakdown/2nd verse of El Dorado, those riffs fucking killed me and I've been sold ever since!

I'm pretty sure it was "Ebolarama" that I first heard, right around the time of Hot Damn!'s release. I remember checking it out because I thought the name was funny/clever and it reminded me of The Simpsons. I was just getting into heavy music around then and I was hooked pretty much instantly.

  13. It's cool to see how they continually pick up new fans throughout all stages of their career. I feel like that doesn't happen very often.

I feel like they are currently way bigger than they have been in awhile

The first ETID somy I ever heard was Underwater Bimbos and I became a fan of Ex Lives, but FPU was when I was fully onboard as a fam and began checking out the rest of their discography.

Yeah I didn't expect many people to have gotten into them just over the past few albums. That's cool

I worked with a guy who had Gutter Phenomenon. I got into it and started anticipating TBD, which became one of my favorite albums when it came out

I heard Bored Stiff while I was at a show I think it was Set Your Goals.. and I shazamed it and then went home and checked out ETID. I think Wanderlust was the track that really sold me on them

But I will back the sentiment that they didn't become one of my favorite bands until FPU

My first introduction to them was The Big Dirty. That album and everything else since has ripped and I haven't looked back. I still need to check out their pre TBD albums.

First time I heard Every Time I Die was when I saw the music video for "Kill The Music". So I Limewire'd a few other tracks off of Gutter Phenomenon and really liked it. Then I remember coming across their live performance of We'rewolf and again downloading a few random tracks. I didn't fully immerse myself with them until New Junk Aesthetic though. It was the start of my freshman year of college. That's the first album of theirs I actually sat and listened to front to back when it came out and I was floored. They've been one of my favorite bands ever since.

Saw FPU had a 92 on Metacritic and was like, "wtf aren't they hard metal or something?"

Once I heard "BLOW YOUR FUCKING BRAINS OUT" I knew why they were there

Also, I feel like last 2 stick out more is because Keith's scream changed a bit or they were finally able to figure out how to have his voice sit better in the mix

I had casually seen Kill the Music on Fuse and I checked them out. Probably on pure volume. The New Black was the song that did it for me, I bought Gutter and that has remained my favorite since. Though I will agree they are light years better now, they have always had their vision nailed down
