The Front Bottoms bring me more joy than a lot of bands. Such a weird band to target.

Lyrically I enjoy them more than a ton of bands that get hyped around here. I'm not blown away by anything lyrically on the Brand New album, for instance, whereas the latest Front Bottoms song was pretty affecting

 

I respect your opinion as hard as that is to read.

 

That's dope, man. TFB have done wonders for a ton of people and I find their lyrics/style refreshing, to say nothing of the songwriting/pop sensibilities and ability to craft memorable hooks.

 

To be fair, they did say something like "if we knew we were gonna take off, we would've picked a different name."

 

I was never big into Kevin Devine until I saw him live and he kicked some serious ass. In fact, I saw him again when Manchester Orchestra was touring Cope and I enjoyed him more than MO lol. With that said, I don't listen to his albums, but he's great live.

 

I love KD, but I definitely back this.

 

Kevin played bass for the Front Bottoms at Lollapalooza last year and they covered Cotton Crush.

I was late though so I missed it and I'm never going to be ok with that.

I've always been a casual fan of Kevin's but his live full band show is so awesome

 

I will absolutely back KD being boring. I'm not a huge fan of the Front Bottoms but their last album was alright.

 

Get used to hearing their name a lot because The Front Bottoms are going to keep crushing it and will only get bigger and bigger

Agreed. Usually it is pretty easy for me to ignore artists i don't like, but she is literally everywhere in the music world and social media (understandably so given her being one of the biggest people in music right now but still) and it can get obnoxious and grating.

 

I surprisingly don't hate that Knocked Loose band, and - while acknowledging he does not impact a band's writing process - I'd like to see what they could do with Kurt Ballou at the helm
