Has anyone played Pillars of Eternity? Complete Edition has me 'mirin. I want a deep RPG rn but I've seen some conflicting opinions and am a total CRPG noob.

haven't finished it, when I played it a few years ago was when my laptop started glitching on me. It's pretty fun, but like games that are similar to PoE it's easy to forget what you're doing (or how you were building your characters) if you stop playing for a while.

I love it. It has some of the best writing, lore, characters and story in a recent CRPG, really shows Obsidian at their best. It's not exempt from some of the downfalls of the genre - combat, while not incredibly hard because of the various difficulty settings, might be a little overwhelming for someone new to the genre and it's easy to occasionally wander a bit and lose track of what you're supposed to be doing. Still, it's one of my favorite CRPGs in recent memory with Divinity: Original Sin so if you're looking to get into a new old school style CRPG, can't go wrong with this.

Thanks man. I forgot about Divinity. Do you have a preference between the two in terms of which is more polished/accessible?

I think Divinity's (excellent) strictly turn based combat is probably a bit more accessible compared to PoE's real time with pauses (and Divinity also has a pretty great co-op mode if you have someone else to play with). Divinity is worse than PoE in regards to guiding you along a path - they require you to do a lot more of your own exploring around areas to find the right clues/people/things needed to progress in a quest. So I guess the answer is uh, no not really but I do prefer PoE as a game for its much stronger writing which is a big part of games like this with novels worth of text.

Started another play through of the last of us, speaking of. Didn't plan on getting sick this weekend, so I turned off all the lights, shut the blinds, and powered through as much as I could.

for some reason i had hoped that Mafia 3 would correct the mistakes of 2, and it pretty much doubled down on them

    Finished Lost Legacy

The relationship between Chloe and Nadine was perfect. The longer length of the game really gave it room to breath and expand. Sam returning was a little unexpected for me, but I wasn't too bothered by it because we've only known about him for one game in the series. This game gives me hope ND might consider keeping Uncharted theirs and alive with Chloe and Nadine.

I'm on the last boss of the Surge. It's a good game, hard to say if I had fun though, ha, it frustrated me WAY more than the Souls series. For one, I always hide behind my shield in Souls and you couldn't do that here, but mainly the areas all looked exactly the same and without a map or anything you have to remember where to turn in every damn grey hallway.

On the last chapter of Uncharted Lost Legacy. Really enjoying it and playing another game in this universe with Chloe and Nadine.

I'm listening to a Bombcast from 08 and they complain about Fallout 3 having the same technical and mechanical problems as Oblivion and I immediately realized they are exactly the same fucking problems as in Fallout 4. Fucking Bethesda lmao

I really hope we get more with other characters. this game started as DLC and became something more. it'd be interesting to see what they can do if they set out to do a full game from the start. I feel like young Sully could be an interesting game, or to play as Sam. I'd be happy playing as Chloe again though.

I think Chloe was a fantastic protagonist. Really think she had the personality to lead a full game on her own. Nadine, I'm not so sure about. I liked the relationship that developed between them, and I can't forsee another Chloe led game without Nadine, but I'd be totally fine with them exploring other options.

The more I think about The Lost Legacy, the more I love it. Every time I think about it I think it's my favourite of the series, then I remember how perfect 2, 3 and 4 were. But I really enjoyed exploring that environment with the twist of "new" characters and personalities. Was the perfect length as well, with some spectacular set pieces and really touching moments.

yeah I can't go as far as saying favorite of the series haha, but it was pretty much exactly what I was looking for. just more time in the uncharted universe without shitting on the perfect ending of 4. definitely hope they do more in the Uncharted world.

I've only played like 30 minutes of Mario Rabbits so far but I'm really impressed by how strong and clean the visuals are. So crisp.

Gameplay is very good too. As someone who plays lots of grid-based strategy games, I love how refreshing this is - chaining dash attacks with jump and then the normal attacks in one turn, and that's just one character.

The only thing I'm worried about now is how good hard mode will be.

I might be able to buy a PS4 for 100$ soon so I'm making a list of Japanese games I want to play. So far I have Yakuza 0, Persona 5 and the new Gravity Rush on the list. Any other suggestions?
