I agree with Curiosity but not with Pure Devotion - that song is bliss!

 

Ya I could picture liking it if I smoked weed or something. I just found it really boring. My favorite stuff on this album is 2/8/11. really good stuff

 

Also had high hopes for Breeze but I can't seem to get into it.

 

I've been absolutely loving this album, and unexpectedly I've been listening to this way more than Science Fiction, despite Brand New being one of my all time favourite bands. I think the timing of Good Nature's release plays into that a lot - it is a perfect summer album so I'm feeling the songs a lot more than Science Fiction, which I'll probably end up going back to more towards the winter. I know it's only the end of August, but I can really see this winding up in my top 3 for the year. It's grabbed me like few other albums have this year, partly because of the music and also the timing is just perfect for me personally. I've needed an album like this lately, so it's been bringing me positive vibes whenever I've listened to it. A beautiful album.

I'm addicted to Butterfly Dream. What a gr8 song wow

 

Butterfly Dream, Pure Devotion and Breeze are the tracks that have still stuck with me. Now I've finished festival season I can give this the time it deserves.

 

Right now nightlight girl is the only song that does nothing for me

 

album feels like a sequel in a slightly more tropical location.

 

Got my record in last night and its as beautiful as I hoped. Only spun the first side because it got late, but this band's music is made to be listened to on vinyl.

I LOVE nightlight

 

I haven't listened to this as much as I anticipated. I've actually been in kind of a music listening lull in general which probably explains it, but I expect this to have a resurgence in the months ahead.

 

Oh and Nightlight Girl is the one track I'm not that into

it makes me want to fall in love with someone just as messed up as myself. actually that's exactly what Humming did a couple years ago now that i think about it

 

finally listening to this while reading lyrics and pure devotion just hits so hard right now. that chorus melody is brilliant too.

 

Pure devotion hurts because I just got out of a shitty relationship where I got NOTHING from her

 

Melodies took a big step up on this record.

Haven't listened enough for any particular songs to top PV but I do immediately appreciate that this takes a few more chances.

 

So is this good?

 

I have various health issues and it's always a challenge to decide when to tell people, especially people I really like. That first verse is like god damn he gets it.

 

It's like lounge jazz emo... so yes

 

Butterfly Dream is a top 10 song for me this year so far, it's such a lovely dreamy pop song for late summer.

 

I feel like PV came around exactly when I needed it to lyrically as a four year relationship was about to break up a few months later (via text on NYD I should add haha), having serious body images issues, a relapse, and I was about to finish university, it spoke to me like no album had in years. And now I'm falling in love and discovering how to love life again. This is soundtracking that.

I love this band a lot.

 

I wish I was having such positive and emotional experiences with this album like many others are. Right now I'm just at "It's pretty good." Nowhere near PV for me, but then again that record is just so magical that it would have been almost impossible to reach that again.
