That's a ferocious hit, but most linebackers are taught to collision any receiver that tries to cross their face.

The force of it was entirely unnecessary, but it's a legal football play in my opinion.

 

It's a new rule they're implementing this year. Easy to make an example out of Burfict.

 

I honestly don't think any other player is getting fined for that hit, let alone suspended.

 

I was thinking it being high as much as anything. Im not aware of any legal block where you can run your shoulder through a guys head legally.

Though Im very anti-Burfict, so he could be playing flag football and Id still call him for illegal hits

 

It looks like shoulder to chest to me, which is legal under the defenseless posture rule, which isn't even a new rule.

That low-bridge on Martellus Bennett he did last year was way worse than this and he didn't even get fined for that.

 

Burfict obviously has had repeat offenses, that will get you a harsher punishment

 

Yeah probably a combination of past offenses and making an example out of him. I don't weep for Burfict but five games is kind of whack, even though that's very unnecessary in a preseason game.

I'm really not concerned with standing up for him on this one. He has a hit every game he could be suspended for. Never playing another game of football again would be closer to what I think Burfict deserves. He's caused so many injuries, and aggravated so many existing ones, on purpose in his career. And been caught on camera twisting ankles and knees after the play is over multiple times. Fucking scum.

 

Guess I hadnt realized how much of a firesale Buffalo made. Definitely in #TrustTheProcess territory

Jones was so bad. Ragland didn't fit this defense in any way shape or form. Other than that, I'm driving the tank.

 

God the Packers OLBs are a disaster when Perry gets hurt.
Matthews sucks cuz he isn't on PEDs anymore and the guys Thompson drafted all suck or hurt. Gotta bring in Ahmad Brooks' corpse ass now.

Definitely a solid bet on a guy who was seen as a round 1 talent coming out. Even if he busts it's not that bad.

 

Also the Bills, Jets and Dolphins, all without starting caliber QBs available to them, are just gonna let Brady be Brady until he retires it looks like. He'll get to own the division a few more years.

 

I'm just waiting for the Schefty tweet to blurp up on my phone that the Eagles have finally traded Mychal Kendricks. I'm ready to get angry over it and get it over with.

He's had a huge pre-season so I assume that just makes him even more likely to get dealt.

 

Cutler isn't a starting caliber QB?

 

I hate 3/4 of the division but god damn the thought of how hilarious the Bills are gonna burn the Jets gives me a semi. Jets gonna draft Darnold and ruin him, Bills gonna own half of the best draft in years lol.

Randall and Matt are anti-Cutler I'm pretty sure

 

I'm anti-Cutler but he's definitely a starting caliber QB. I just don't think he's very good. If people would talk about him like that then I have no problem but I feel like we're all just playing revisionist by acting like the word "Cutler" wasn't, more often than not, followed by "lol."

 

I mean, yea the Pats are clearly going to own the division for as long as Brady is there

but the Dolphins did make the playoffs last year and their roster is better this year. Granted, Cutler isn't as good as Tannehill would've been, but whatever

 

Yeah I wouldn't lump the Dolphins in with the Jets or Bills at all.
