The number of online music writers who have heard the album in this thread is approaching parody at this point.

 

So fucking excited to get weird to this record in a month

Rites is probably the most aggressive song on the album but quite a few of the songs are pretty upbeat yet they still have this chilly atmosphere to them.

At Night It Gets Worse may be my new fav Circa song idk its great

 

What past albums would you compare this new one to, if any?

 

its got a lot of Juturna and VW in it. its probably most like VW just with much better production

 

VW is my least favorite Circa album, so that makes me a little nervous, but everything I've heard from this album leads me to believe that I'm really going to love it.

 

Yeah, makes me a little nervous about the VW comparison, but then again, the production is my only/first real complaint about it. That album grew on me when I bought the deluxe version with the live concert.

 

I feel like all their albums have different types of production problems, but they end up being of similar magnitude. IMO VW doesn't sound any worse than the others, and I'm concerned based on the singles that this one could sound even worse ("Rites" is incredibly blunted/muffled and lacking high end).

 

Is okay. Just curious, how does audio get water marked? I've heard people mention that a few times but never really knew what that meant.

i wouldnt stress about it too much as far as the VW comparison. its really just the closest thing i could compare it to. honestly its very much its own album and i think its kinda the opposite of Descensus in a way. Descensus was a lot more experimental musically, incorporating organs and different genres like post metal, but was very singularly focused on Anthony as a person and his demons/issues. This album is a little more straightforward musically, barring some interesting little moments, but lyrically its a broader palette of political and social issues as well as a running theme of death. i think the rhythm section shines brighter on this record than any others though

usually its information being embedded into the signal, like the name of the company or the website or hell even someones personal name, so that its very difficult to remove and easily traceable when viewed in a frequency viewing program. i think photos and videos can also be embedded into the signal from what ive read but honestly this is all just second hand. i just assume either my name or my email address is embedded somewhere in the mp3s i was given to make it easy to find out who leaked this if it were to leak.

Circa usually releases 2 songs before album's release date... If title track is the third single, It breaks the protocol..
