Haha, I'd agree unless you count Dogs Eating Dogs as a Mark song but honestly my favourite part of that is Tom's chorus so I guess I'd still agree.

 

first impressions:

1. wait is that still mark singing?
2. come over and over and over had to be intentional right?

 

Agreed. Lots of sexual wordplay: "all my friends are daring me to come over / so I come over and over and over"

 

Has anyone wondered where the "K" will be at on the album art or if they will drop the lettering thing?

 

Nope. I have always hated that whole thing.

 

What size venues were Alkaline Trio playing at their peak? Are these dates gonna be the biggest venue Skiba's ever done?

Just spitballing here but hear me out, the bands name is blinK 182

 

I can tell them apart pretty easily. (I think haha). I can maybe understand the confusion if you've not heard much Alkaline Trio though.

There's a slight cracking or strain to Matt's vocals. Like when he says "rescuing" or "head" in the second verse.

 

Mark and Matt sound SO similar. I blame Feldmann's production on that. Or it might be the low audio quality too.

 

I can't get over how much I like the bridge. Easily my favorite part of the song.

 

I was going to blame Goldman.

 

seriously. just noticed this on my third listen. that and come over and over had to be intentional. i think that immature humor will always be apart of blink. but not as explicit as like enema and toypaj.

 

Still haven't listened. Tuning in at 7:30

Just keep smiling at how many people have said they love it.

 

I know they've done the Electric Factory in Philly, which is the same venue Brand New played on their TDAG tour, if that gives you any idea.

 

the choruses are identical I'm pretty sure. the 'I'm nearly' sounds like mark both times to me

 

matt DEFINITELY sings the first

 

*Raises hand slowly and slaps forehead*

 

Nope. Matt 100% sings the entire first chorus outside of "Life is too short." Mark sings all of the second and third choruses.

 

Also as a long time Alkaline Trio fan, Matt is DEFINITELY singing the 2nd verse.

The only part I'm having trouble with is the first two choruses....They sound more Matt than Mark, but both are definitely singing. I was going to say they are definitely Matt with a little Mark mixed in, but then the 3rd chorus after the bridge kicks in with the music dropped and that's all Mark. So it's hard to tell. And Mark is obviously singing the little "Life is too short" part at the end of each chorus.


This song is awesome and so much better than I was expecting. And I definitely see the comparisons people who heard it were making to previous Blink songs.

 

Matt definitely sings the first chorus and Mark sings the second.

 

The possibility of getting the new album is so unlike blink. It would be the perfect move, refreshing after so many years of delays and let downs. I'll go nuts if it happens!!!

California is a boring album title, but I'm surprised they made the artwork better with so many white on top and bottom. It ended up looking more clean/minimal (the font helped, of course).

 

Second chorus is 100% mark, but I am deaf so pinch of salt. Still not sold on this.

 

If you listen closely on good speakers or good headphones, you can hear the choruses are different. I'm 100% certain of it.
