I think too highly of her to think a song like Bad Blood could be totally serious, haha. It's always felt like it was intentionally over the top and petty to me. That said I still think both songs kind of suck, ha. I'm not sure if there's any moment I really like on BB though and I do find the voicemail thing highly amusing so maybe this wins for that alone.

Apparently on TV, E! News said that the new album is inspired by folk-pop music.

    Super duper curious if true

  9. That's actually laid out pretty well. It's the right way to do chaotic.

i just think it could be done better. it's a little cluttered, it could breathe a lil better broken up in different images while still being choatic. it's a lot to take in. i keep thinking about frank ocean's boys dont cry magazine or a modernized david carson for inspiration. also, kerning... especially in FASHION. having the ascenders/descenders touch is a lil distracting. i can't tell if it's a mistake or intentional. of course this is a teaser, not a premium so they prob didn't spend much time on this. overall, hire a graphic designer taylor, you're rich enough. but i like the colors and styling tho, i would rock that camo jacket.

Based on everything that's happen since with the Katy thing...I think it's totally serious. Could be wrong, obviously, but that's how it's always struck me.

Agree with you on the voicemail part, though. I think that bit is genius. It could launch a million thinkpieces by itself.

    Please let this be true.

I've listened to this song about a dozen times today and like it a lot. The high hats in the chorus are infectious.

She's making a play for the clubs with this--not coincidentally the one place where she's never been. This song is going to get remixed into oblivion.

Where did this "bad lead single" narrative come from? Love Story is the best song on its respective album, Mine is up there, and We Are Never is a decent song. And I didn't realize people didn't like Shake It Off, I thought that song was fucking phenomenal the first time I heard it and it's still probably my favorite song on the album.

I think it's more false hope than anything. The record could still be good. People are concerned though, hence the awful first single narrative.
