I watched All Get Out open for Mae, and there were so many mid-30s woo-girls there that Nathan had to plead for them to shut the fuck up. Didn't work.

FYI, Mae is probably the worst live band I've ever seen. Had to leave halfway through the set.

 

Without Vin I don't know if this band achieves the heights that they've reached. He has pushed their sound to places I never expected. His influence on their sound since 2006 cannot be emphasized enough.

That's not to slight the other members because they're important in their own right. I just think Vin is the one that's willing to take the biggest risks and comes up with some unconventional yet tasteful sounds and riffs, which elevate Jesse's songwriting and Brian and Garrett's musicianship.

 

Quick unrelated shoutout to @cwhit, your list from the other day finally got me to give Now, Now a chance. I’m now on the bandwagon.

 

that's a perfect record. can't even pick out a signature track because the whole thing works so well together

Also I will always love and cherish the fact that it's been the same lineup from the beginning. That makes them even more special to me. Rare these days that there aren't any lineup changes. Thrice and mewithoutYou are 2 other good examples. Coincidentally those 2 bands have brothers in them ha

Lead singer is tone deaf and kinda talk-sings because he can't hit his notes. And he's the type of front man that points at what he's singing about...like when he says "you," he points at the crowd. When he says "heart" he points at/pats his heart. When he says "stars" or "sky," he points upward. It was just awkward.

Today is stacked with new music but I don't know if I will be able or want to listen to anything else lol. But ya new PVRIS, Turnover and War on Drugs in the same day is insane. I don't know where to start

 

It would be, considering the rumors and all, but I think we're still not supposed to talk about that.

i think jesse laid those rumors to rest? wasnt the rumor that his wife cheated on him with derrick or something? i think i remember either 1 or all parties saying it wasnt true

Derrick was a damn fine guitarist/keyboardist/organist and his little flourishes on TDAG, FOYD, and Daisy enriched those albums a lot. maybe, just maybe, hes on here. or it could be Sapone or someone doing the keys/extra guitars/etc

 

a lot of the songs have like 3 guitar parts so maybe vinnie or jesse just did those extra parts and then Sapone filled out the rest with the little touches of extra instrumentation here and there
