No joke, I wonder if the current political climate prompted them to just release this like they did or if that was the plan

 

I thought about this.

Desert is very on the nose with what occurred in Charlottesville the previous weekend.

137 with what occurred with North Korea a week or two before.

 

I mean, I feel like that can be achieved without brickwalling the songs. It looks like a lot of these songs actually clip, which is definitely undesirable (unless done intentionally, of course, but I struggle to see why anyone would want a song like say In The Water to do that). It's not something that detracts from my enjoyment of the album, really, it's just something I wish more bands took care in avoiding.

 

hearing the end of the podcast was really special. just hearing jason talking about this band, what they mean to their fanbase, how no band will ever do what they have done ever again. im actually getting emotional thinking about it. man.

 

this band is so special.

 

This is not new information, but this album sounds ridiculously good through headphones. Almost a different experience entirely from my computer speakers.

 

This band is amazing. Their power levels are off the charts, to put out an album like this! My scouter about shattered when I started the album up on it. This is an album of the year, and if you say otherwise I will send you to otherworld.

No Control is growing on me

 

This is a good album....if you have insomnia and need to sleep! I wanted to like this. -_- Maybe I need to try it with headphones.

"batter up" feels like a swan song in the same sense that Thursdays "Stay True" does

 

It's funny to hear Jason and Drew talk about vindication with the publicity that SF is getting. I've had the same opinion with the band where I have always been honest that they are my favorite band of all time and haven't cared if people cared or not. I just need to see them on their last tour should it happen.

 

Man, it sucks that they're fading away again after December without recording more..

 

Seeing them touring but not writing any new music is almost sadder than just breaking up permanently. It's so close to being a reality.

 

I'm super behind but I love this Seinfeld reference thrown in out of nowhere

 

Can't wait for every show from now on to end with Jesse saying "Welp, see you never" and then everyone reporting it to the internet. I'll be bummed

 

Despite some animorph talk, this thread has been very constructive and pretty productive today, shedding light on both the lyrics on this album and expanding upon its themes.
