Not confirmed though. It's happening but it's still pending a work permit.

 

Liverpool and Dortmund are both being offering crazy money for their players (Barca overpaying for both), the same players who have begged to leave. And yet both clubs refuse to sell. I know they hold leverage over Barca but at what point is it just silly? Are we past that?

 

For Dortmund, it's tough. The player has gone on strike. Sure they're being offered an insane amount of money, but selling now sets a precedent that a player is bigger than the club and can just throw a hissy fit to get his own way.

For Liverpool, I think probably. I don't know. I can't really comment on his worth to the team - Liverpool fans think he is absolutely crucial, but I'd be willing to venture that they'd be a better term for selling him for an insane amount and reinvesting in the defence. Plus, he's handed a request in. Obviously wants to go, so at what point is it self defeating to keep him?

At the end of the day, neither club really needs the money, and they'd be faced with the same issue of any selling club knowing how much they have when negotiating for replacements.

 

With Coutinho, yes. Liverpool have lost the commitment of the player. Cash in.

With Dembele, Barca should drop it. He's not even the best young talent in Dortmund's attack.

 

Coutinho is an important enough player for Liverpool that at this point in the transfer window, there's little point in selling him. The money is there for Van Dijk (and others) so it's not a case of one or the other. It's also a World Cup year so it's unlikely that Coutinho will risk that for the sake of sulking for the next nine months. Klopp may take a little more convincing given the value he places on discipline and professionalism (see what's happened to Sakho) but I don't foresee too much of a problem given all the factors.

Despite pretty good results in the first three matches of the season, midfield has been a problem without him (and Lallana to a certain extent).

 

I honestly expected a really lowkey transfer window in general because of it being a World Cup year, but Neymar (and to a lesser extent, Lukaku and Morata) really kinda made the whole thing blow up.

 

Anyone in here know about Jadon Sancho? Never seen him play.

Imagine having Zlatan as your 2nd choice striker. Or him & Lukaku on at the same time with any of Pogba, Mata, Mhiki, Herrera or Matic supplying them. Not mentioning Rashford or Martial

 

Can't see this at work but I"m assuming this is the glorious tweet of the lord and savior Zlatan dapping up the red devil, or going for a friendly arm wrestling match, either way getting this tattooed across my back later.
