    Newbie

origin story (only because I think mine is evidence of the luck with which my life has been blessed):

I moved to the United States in 2006 (as a grown ass woman, athangyouverymuch.) The decision to move was "lubricated" by many many listens to A City by the Light Divided (references to leaving things behind, not looking back etc.)

once i arrived in NYC, a Thursday concert was first up om my agenda (with the number 12 looks like you, at like, a VFW hall in Brooklyn), after that i just kept searching for cool venues, and googled band's that I didn't know from their respective calendars to see if I wanted to go to the show.

in so doing, I must have stumbled across BN (and I suspect it was their 'proximity' to TBS, at least in terms of the legacy, that made me think I should check the show out.)

so in late April 2007 I went to Irving Plaza and by total accident stumbled into that epic MO/KD&GDB/BN tour. Back then, BN was playing Limo, and doing so with that dual electric/acoustic guitar set up (anyone remember that?). Literally from "one will love you so much" I have loved BN.

Years, many shows, tattoos etc. later, the same is still true.

Very very impressed with SF, especially because I think I'll still enjoy it months and years from now.

That's why I said regardless of which 4.

I'm not trying to make this a debate. Brand New fans I know IRL agree on me with YFW, you guys pick Daisy.

Doesn't matter which albums, the point is that to a lot of us BN has 4 of the best albums of all time.

    i am 24.

basically until 2010 i was all into just warped tour pop rock and stuff in that realm. i also had zero influence from people i know on my music taste, every phase i had self self-discovered lol

FTSK makes great music. That album was fantastic. Don't let haters change your opinions!

Imagine never hearing them until years later. I think about the Beatles. They were a family band. Holidays we'd sit by the record player and listen before and during food. I was too young to see them live. I still appreciate them. With Brand New leaving and giving us one more full length right now, it's a gift. I know how you feel, you had goosebumps in the car while Sowing Season was on full blast. You laid in bed with the "Quiet things" spiraled around your room while you thought of someone special. You're right, they'll live on forever (wow I really went off the rails here :) ))

Lol the first CDs I bought for myself were 30STM "A Beautiful Lie", All American Rejects "Move Along", Hawthorne Heights "If Only You Were Lonely", and the Red Jumpsuit Apparatus "Don't You Fake It". Kind of laughable now, but that day definitely changed me.

I was 16 when that came out, and I can see why I liked it at the time. Aged terribly obviously. Was there more about that band that makes people not like them?

Dude, this so much. Back in 2009 I posted literally every day that I was listening to Paramore.

I don't even like Paramore anymore lol

it's more just bad music, if you weren't into bad pop rock then there's no way you had any respect for that band, hahaha.

How many times do I have to say that I have absolutely ZERO nostalgia when it comes to YFW. I didn't even start listening to Brand new until a couple years after TDAG came out.

I honestly can't remember the first CD I bought with my own money, but it was probably awful.

My dad bought so many CDs for me before I started making my own money that I much more distinctly remember the ones he or my grandma got for me. Maybe the first majorly influential CD I ever had was Hybrid Theory.

actually the math doesn't quite work out? but i'd take the last four paramore albums over everything but D&G and the new one

  23. The lead singer is a raging Republican dillweed that has done/said all the stuff you'd probably guess.

Oh, and the duck incident will forever live in infamy.

    See you said good.

While Paramore might have good albums, Brand New has masterpieces so it really isn't even a close race at this point.
