I still stand by Trubisky looking the best so far honestly haha. Kizer has that big play potential but Trubisky has that consistency that QB starved teams such as my own look for.

Trubs and Mahomes have both looked solid so far. They definitely haven't been outshined by Kizer.

Kizer hasn't been playing with the starting offensive line and has been pressured fairly consistently. Also the differences in terms of quality of skill players between who each QB is playing with is pretty negligible. Besides Watson who has a great group.

There's more than just stats. Kizer has been given control of much more of the offense then the rest and has made more difficult throws.

Lol okay. So if Kizer sucks while playing with the team that has ruined quarterbacks for literally decades, I was wrong about him as a prospect. If he ends up being good, I was still wrong about him as a prospect but he just succeeded anyway.

Watson has grown on me a lot and I like the potential for the future

I won't lie when I say I wasn't crazy about him at all before we picked him. He grew on me in the pre-draft process a bit but at the point where we picked him I was just like "At least we finally picked a damn QB" but since seeing more of him and how he handles himself / what areas he can improve in, I'm not complaining.

As I said predraft, I like Watson. He will be fine, he's in a good situation. Just hasn't shown too much yet.

Still on the Mahomes hype train and will never stop

Will watch every Mahomes game this season, all 1 of them

  10. Everyone laughed at me when I said the Bears didn't make a bad trade to get Trubisky. He's going to be awesome.

The stupid mistake they made was signing Glennon.

Hue Jackson hasn't ruined QBs for decades.

I'm saying that certain elements of him as a prospect (see: doubters) aren't eliminated. He managed to overcome them, that's good. I hope he does because I like Kizer and love this Browns roster. But him winning games in Cleveland doesn't negate the fact that he failed to at Notre Dame and four wins is a historically low amount of wins for a top QB prospect.

For sure, I thought it was a bit of a shocker and that their roster was depleted and could use the picks to fill in gaps, but Trubisky is great, they'll be okay.

He could be great and it's still not a great trade.

  14. I'll agree that if we knew 100% that no other team was talking to SF about moving up OR if Chicago knew 100% that no other team was looking to trade up. But we don't know that. SF could have very well played Chicago into thinking there was another deal in the works. And if your Chicago, and you're completely sold on Trubisky, you can't risk letting that happen. Giving up 3rd, 4th, future 3rd is not a lot if Trubisky pans out to be a solid starter.

The argument was never that Kizer was flawless or there was no reason to doubt his success. Every prospect is flawed, there's a reason to doubt every prospect's transition to the NFL. Believing in a prospect is believing that their strengths outweigh their flaws, or their flaws can be reasonably mitigated/hidden, and they can have success. I still think judging a college prospect on team success is a silly thing to do, and suggesting that the highly toxic situation in Notre Dame last year falls on Kizer's shoulders is a bit ridiculous. Not to mention they won 10 games with Kizer the year before.

Oh yeah, Chicago made the move they thought was right. I am of the belief that the 49ers had nothing in the works though. Because why would they take a 3rd and a 4th if they could've gotten a 1st and/or 2nd? It's not like a bad trade in the sense that it hurts them severely so much as I think it was bad because they got played haha.

I get that and I agree. That's why I think the second round and to Cleveland was perfect. I agree. Judging it on college success doesn't say much. Lack thereof says a little though. It doesn't all fall on Kizer, of course. But this is college football. Dynamic QBs lead weak teams left and right. Kizer could develop into something good. I don't think you trade a future 1st and move up to take him in the 1st though.

Let's just address that the doubters are mostly for him being on the Browns than his actual skills.

Are they starting Henne because he gives them the best chance to tank? Or do they think he gives them the best chance to win? I'm not sure which scares me more.

I don't see any reason not to start Brandon Allen for the last two preseason games.

The bears making that trade wasn't that it was bad to draft trubisky, it was making the trade one spot and giving up that much when it was doubtful the niners would take him.

No one knew anything about John Lynch. He basically forced their hand by putting doubt in their heads. Like, maybe he is that stupid. Do you wanna bet on it and lose your guy though?

Well, it was a good start but who knows... everyone loved baalke for getting tons of picks and half those picks ended up being average. Remember AJ Jenkins? Lol
