I didn't know it was a cover until ~2014. I heard the original and I didn't like it.

What was fun about it for you? Was it the death of the twins?

 

I just get the vibe a lot of you dislike the song because it's not the typical "Complex" Brand New song.

 

Traditionally, yes, works of art are structured differently from other works of art.

 

I mean...it's a little different. Mostly just the verses. Though I haven't listened in months.

 

i dislike the song because its not a good song. i get the vibe you have to ascribe ulterior motives to other people's opinions to make yourself feel better

 

Pretty much all Brand new songs are "fun" to me regardless of lyrics.

Good music is usually fun to me but maybe that's a bad word. Its a good track, that is all.

 

IAAN is an okay song but it would have been an extreme weak spot if it had a place in this album

Also I hate the way it sounds

 

"Handcuffs" is not a good song. At all. And being on a very good/great record doesn't make it any better by association. I hated it the first time I heard it and I still do. I usually turn the album off before it starts.

"Archers" and "Not the Sun" are 2 of the better songs on the record. But really everything besides "Handcuffs"

Playing Nagasaki is so fun! I can't wait to do that.

 

Tidal wave is head and shoulders the worst song on there. I'd take some of their st songs over it, and I HATE HATE HATE that record

Part of the melody borrows from it, sure, but overall the songs are pretty different.

Not to say that the song is great, it has its own issues, but still.

 

Traditionally there is a model that most art follows... But there are exceptions, of course, it's art. But that doesn't change that there is a model.

 

Okay, answer me this: why do you think it's a bad song?

Brand New don't like IAAN either. When I saw them play it live it was boring. And they seemed bored
