That actually sounds good to be honest.

Isn't it sad that his biggest fear actually happened because he wanted to be taken seriously as an artist/musician and yet no one cared once he left blink? People would rather listen to him singing All The Small Things instead of songs about changing the world.

As far as what the hell happened? I honestly think he lost his passion for being a full time musician and would rather stay at home and be a somewhat normal family man and lost that drive. Which I'm not knocking at all, it's not an easy job doing what he did for so long. I also think his ego definitely got in the way too which hurts his music. He was never John Lennon with his song writing but as an outside it looks like whatever outside influences he had to tell him no and give him advice (like a Jerry Finn or Critter) were no longer around to help him.

 

So people bought a Brand New record just labeled "Fifth Album" with no artwork, no tracklisting, and without hearing a song on it for $45 plus shipping without thinking about it.(Myself included)

Meanwhile, we're complaining about an EP that is 4 songs being sold for $5 instead of $4?

C'mon. The Tom hate is such a stretch sometimes.

 

Yeah, I don't care about that price. If it was like $10 for a digital copy of an EP, then I'd be complaining.

 

What the fuck?!

 

I think most of the Tom hate is the guy teased something, for once, that all of us were actually interested in and how long ago did he tease it? Over a year ago? Almost two? I don't remember. But he couldn't crap out more than 4 songs?

I can't understand how even his biggest fan gets that worked up over his announcing announcements at this point lol.

 

Maybe he'll do it over a couple of EP's

 

Totally agree. The site says itself that it will be available from 2 or 3 other outlets, so the onus is on you as the consumer to look at those outlets and see that its there for cheaper. $1 extra to have something a few days in advance is totally fair enough, and for die hard fans. Those that can wait, or care about the cost, can literally just wait 3 days and get it for that price.

 

Just to be clear I actually really enjoy this EP. WDNTW was such a great album.

 

The auto-tune on The Adventure drove me nuts. Shut it off. Bummer city.

 

3 EP's, one EP a year. it's Tom so it would be no surprise if it happens like that
then after the 3rd one, deluxe box set of 3 EP's, special packaging, signed and lipstick kiss by Tom DeLonge for $50, limited and #d, only or the true fan

 

Jeez, some people just hate Tom way too much.

Shame it's just 4 songs though, WDNTW is a great record.

!!!!!!!!!! Good to see that Alkaline Trio at least has a huge show this winter. Hope they are planning some other stuff as well.

 

Wait, is Alkaline Trio opening for that Misfits show in LA? Where'd you guys see that?

 

I just got general admission floor tickets to The Misfits / Alkaline Trio show. Unreal.

Update: 6 days until my big day. I set it up with the aquarium that we are going to attend the sting ray demonstration at 3pm that day. At the end of the show they're gonna bring her and I up as volunteers for a trick, have her close her eyes and a diver is gonna come up with a sign asking her to marry me lol it's not a blink concert but this will work wonders.
