oh man, id rather a Daisy heavy than Deja heavy set

 

We all know you're trying to actually ruin my reputation in this super small thread. Imma just head back to my other big threads that I'm apart of

 

same, I'm just trying to be realistic, they need to throw stuff in for those fans.. in this community Deja is like 4th best for most people but overall its most peoples favorite

 

At times that might be my favorite Brand New song.... and I don't think ive seen it live enough. But with that said, I'd pass on it for any of these. Give me Batter Up in its place

 

exactly, its an incredible song.. also after seeing it with Kevin Devine and Andy Hull, I know it will never be better. I've seen it played live 4 times in the last two years too ha.

 

Devil & God is the best album art ever tbh

 

Well I feel pretty safe saying they won't play "Desert" live so that's one you can scratch off...

 

After playing such similar sets for years they have to add more than 4-5

Also I'm pretty sure they would still play "Desert"

 

i wonder if Jesse does Could Never Be Heaven as the first encore song because they do that a lot. a couple encore songs but the first one Jesse does solo.

 

I really like the Black Mile to the surface album art a ton... once someone pointed out it was the girl cutting down her family tree as she climbed it with the shears, idk it hit hard with the theme of that album. Devil and God is perfect too though ha

 

to be honest i still dont love the Science Fiction album art.

 

Desert seems more likely than 451 to me for some reason

 

Out Of Mana they for sure play too cause theyve been sound checking with it for a while now

this is eight songs, and what are their sets normally? 20 ish? so like 6 that they might have as either deep cuts or rotate in and out (unfortunately probably soco and 70x7 in that number) and the rest scifi songs?

I've always wanted a tattoo but my wife doesn't want me to get one... but I really really want a tattoo of the Black Mile album art on my arm like that guy in the Manchester thread

 

nah they dont always do 70x7

 

i saw that tattoo looked so rad

 

my thought process is that if they're wrapping stuff up they're probably gonna play some yfw now and then and 70x7 is one of the more popular ones from that one. and jude law. christ i also can't fathom that they're so nice they'd give up scifi spots for either of those two songs

 

They should do what Thrice did in their farewell tour. They played a few really old songs from their first album as part of their encore as like a "this is for all you who have been here since the beginning" kind of a thing. But r didn't take away from the legit good songs on the regular setlist

 

It will definitely to a large extent be a function of the fact that they're a part time band, this is a small tour, and these new songs are not simple at all.

5-6 new ones sounds right to me.

 

Yeah my wife has had to put up with me talking about getting a tattoo since we first became friends in high school. But that one really made me consider it. Like if she told me she didn't care it would be done tomorrow haha

 

things that influenced this record, the reworked demos and playing devil and god in full on tour in the Fall, the southern aspects on Daisy, and recording in Nashville? A shitty political climate?

 

i see them playing five or six per set but learning like ~8? they've done the thing where they play some stuff to see what is better received and stop playing stuff that doesn't seem to go over well.
