I definitely disagree, but I should listen to it again regardless, it's been awhile. I think Lost In the Sound of Separation is easily their best as it seems to be a culmination of everything they had done in the past while still progressing forward. But I'll listen to Disambiguation again. For me that album came and went.

Yeah I'd love that too, but still like what we have. I'm a sucker for spoken word coming in over songs. 137 is scratching that itch from this record.

I still want the scrapped demos from circa-2012 that you said were some of the best songs they've ever done >:-(

Totally hear you. Most of the songs on this album hit me way harder on listen 7 or 8, while pouring over the lyrics and really thinking about where Jesse and the band were coming from.

I said a while back (but nobody responded) that it sounded like My Dinner With Andre to me.

the emotion and sheer darkness of theme is unparalleled in their career. it's a heavy record, not just in sound but it's a heavy listen.

Daisy Sessions will probably always be my favorite recording of Brand New

Honestly at least a bit of this new album has a similar vibe to that

Science Fiction doesn't seem to elicit the same emotional response that I get when listening to something like The Devil and God, but it is certainly a great listen. I know where is sits in Brand New's discography for me, but when discussing things like my favorite albums of all time I definitely can't put it there due to the lack of emotional resonance, but maybe that will change with time. I can't seem to stop listening to this album so that says something. In a way, I sort of feel bad. I had a two hour drive the other day and I was listening to the new Grizzly Bear album, easily one of my most anticipated of the year, and the whole listen was filled with impatience as I couldn't wait for it to be over so I could listen to Science Fiction more.

In the water is so moving and beautiful that one almost more than any other song on SF makes me so emotional again now I had tears trying to reply to a text. I cant help it last night was the same with this one theres just something about it that hits all the right notes for me

Those songs don't really fit on the album but I followed anyways to try it out. I wouldn't put them at the end though, I think they would work better spread out throughout the album. I don't think they fit but if you were going to add them they would work better spread throughout.

That movie's just two hours straight of dialogue, you'll have to listen really closely.

See my In the water posts but also Waste and Same Logic. The more listens I give SF the more I start to connect with it on a deeper emotional level
