I immediately knew I made my point badly, lol. I definitely know that the rest of their albums could likely have comparisons drawn to other bands. Maybe it was a product of my age at the time, my musical knowledge (or lack thereof) that kept me from noticing, whatever. More what I'm trying to get at is like on the rest of their albums, to me, they all sounded undeniably them, but with this one they're managing to keep that feel while in addition almost showing off their record collection

Im still so fucking madly in love with this album. So grateful for its existence.

I still cant believe its this good. The opener and closer are incredible and everything in between is too but ya love how it starts and ends. Perfect way. Everytime i listen I discover something new about each and every track its TDAG all over again for me. I look forward to all the amazing experiences and memories i will have listening to Sci Fi

Couldn't agree more about how happy I am with the way it turned out. Pretty much exactly what I was hoping for. Hell it even delivers in ways I hadn't even considered.

This is ridiculous. I feel like I'm in middle school, obsessing over a crush. I know I'm not alone here, right? RIGHT!?!

i bet they have like 2-3 albums worth of material just sitting on someones harddrive. theres probably an albums worth of songs in the style of Mene, and album like IAAN, and then Sealed To Me which I think this album bares the closest similarities to

Pretty sure Out Of Range is just a Daisy b-side or at least that was the general consensus when it appeared online years ago.

Don't think that Devil and God will ever be dethroned as their best album for me and to be honest - didn't have expectation for this one to do that. What I love about their music is that each album services what I want out of this band in a completely different way. This has allowed me to always be able to revisit Deja, Daisy and YFW and enjoy them in the same way that I always have.

I went into Science Fiction with an open mind and was happily blown away. There is so much this album does that it is hard to pick a favorite song and makes me want to listen in full every time I listen to it (which has been everyday since it came out. What I liked about this album drop was that there was nothing I had heard from it prior so I did not know what to expect of it. That is so rare this day and age with the staggered release where you hear basically half the album before it fully comes out. What I enjoy about this album is the diversity in tone of song and overall mood. It's very disjointed but seems to work for what they were aiming for. It will be very enjoyable to dissect the lyrical themes and other elements of this album.

It's not going to replace Deja, Devil, Daisy or YFW for me and I never wanted it to. All those albums were different and enjoyable for me as a fan. I'm glad this has the same effect on me that those albums did. If it is truly the last one - It is a great way to go out, I'm glad that we got it and I'm even more glad that I love it as much as I do.

This is so true. I guess I could stop listening to singles but I'm impatient. When the album comes out it does kind of take away from the entire album experience. When the last Wonder Years record came out I sat down and threw it on my turntable and waited for a spiritual experience only to realize I already knew the words to every song but one on the A side of the record. With this record I had no expectations at all and just sat down and had the entire album experience as it was meant to be heard: as a cohesive piece of work. This will always be a special release to me for that reason.

The people on Reddit must be losing their minds. I try to avoid going down that rabbit hole. Nothing against it just personal preference has been to check there once and awhile only. It's a dangerous abyss over there.

I wish that little outro part to Out of Mana was fleshed out into a full song--it's wonderful.

Exactly. I threw the album on and had ABSOLUTELY NO IDEA what to expect, which is rare but even more so when we're talking about a new release from a favorite band. Haven't had that experience with an album from a band I follow probably SINCE Deja AND TDAG, hahaha.
